why is TJ Maxx and Marshall's so cheap
Question:
why are their colognes cheaper than macys? are they older? are they defected? Answer: They aren't older or defective... they're just slow-selling or discontinued stock that was returned to the vendor from stores like Macy's. Answer: Sooooo...it's OK to buy from them, then? Answer: Originally Posted by Duncan Sooooo...it's OK to buy from them, then? Yup. Answer: 10-4 MF, thanks! jd Answer: Walking in the store and buying is probably OK. Their frag part of their business seems to be to buy big lots of frags that fall out of favor, just as it is with many discount companies. The local Marshall's where I live has quit carrying many frags so I gave up going there. I'm surprised that nobody mentioned the huge problems their parent company is dealing with due to their online customer database being hacked into, which contained credit card numbers and and other customer data. Their answer is to say they're sorry, and if you've bought from them online, to watch your credit card bills. It was all over the news, and sorry if I'm pointing out something that everybody knows. I think the dirty little secret is that many companies have poor security practices, but they either can't afford (or decide not to pay for) improved security, and simply hope that they won't get broken into. Answer: Their is nothing wrong with these scents. They are not returns from other department stores or defects. They are just fragrances without the markup profit in the price that departments have. Example - Guess for men was at Marshalls right durning its launch. Answer: TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Filene's Basement - the trolling ground for treasures like: Kiehl's Original Musk, Givenchy Gentleman, Gucci Pour Homme, Rive Gauche Pour Homme and Shalimar for the magic price of $19.99. Answer: As with the clothing they carry, they basically look for deals on overstock from stores and/or suppliers. You are not going to find the latest and greatest fragrances there or the high end premium lines. Typically you will find fragrances that the full price stores have stopped stocking because they don't sell enough. Nothing wrong with the fragrances. You can find exceptional deals and some extremely good fragrances there but most of what you will find there... well there is a reason it is there. It was just not that good. That being said, I check what they have when I'm there and occationally find something worth getting. Answer: Occasionally something good and rare might pop up. A year ago, there were brand new 3.4oz YSL M7 Fresh for $20 at some TJ Maxx. M7 Fresh is very hard to find in the USA, but some of the TJ Maxx got it-- and they were selling it for $20!!! Needless to say, everyone was searching for it, but only a few got it. I couldn't find one, and I searched at like 4-5 stores lol. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
