Restrictions Proposed for Natural Citrus Oils
Question:
Has anybody seen this from Cropwatch on the proposed restrictions of natural citrus oils?
Very worrisome.

If there is another thread on this, please tell me.

Answer:
Good grief, first they try to take my spinach away and now this. Don't they have anything better to do. I don't know, like maybe, take the poison out of pet food?

Answer:
Like you said - spinach, decants - next it will be chocolate. Aieeeee!

There's a thread on this subject at POL:

Answer:
I've been corresponding with Tony at Cropwatch and I feel like I'm in Alice in Wonderland when I read the text of this new law. It's already been passed. It's done. I just spent a week in Italy and every single small perfume house (and there are hundreds, most of them wonderful) use citrus in everything they make. Duh, it's Italy!!! So what's up with essentially banning bergamot and lemon and all the rest?? I just don't get this at all.

Answer:
Truly bizarre. A simple written warning on various edibles is considered (and it would seem actually IS) entirely effective and adequate for warning the sensitive of possible traces of tree- or pea-nuts (which can actually prove fatal to some), it isn't considered equally appropriate for fragrance components (which rarely do more than send one off to the dermatologist, at worst).

Answer:
It has been passed?
There goes the whole ball game.
Almost everything we wear will never smell the same.
What the &*%% is going on?
I can get more exposure to dangerous citrus oils by peeling my own orange. Are they going to outlaw citrus fruit at the grocery store? They might as well. There is a much higher concentration of oils in the fruit.
Save me from myself. Oh, please, save me.
And yeah, run down to the store and grab me a pack of cigs while you're at it.
And some Clorox and ammonia.
And some lighter fluid and paint thinner.
Wait. I forgot the lawn chemicals, the herbicides and insecticides.
Everyone is spreading them on their yards right about now.

Answer:
I totally agree! It's just so bizarre I don't even know how to comment upon it.

Answer:
This is becoming surreal - don't know what to say about it.
As you may know, Isabelle Doyen who has made our first perfumes, is currently responsable for AG's Hadrien.
She is on vacation right now. I will ask her for her opinion next month and report back.
