And Sestra, enjoy Orris Noir -- isn't it lovely? I find it sits very close to the skin on me, so I feel like I've got a delicious little secret all day. Though I keep doing the "Basenotes Salute" (elbow forward, wrist to nose) continually, and sometimes end up getting the most inappropriate urge to walk up to someone (co-worker? Perfect stranger?) and shove my wrist in his/her face,asking, "Isn't this GREAT?!?"
Today I am playing with Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's Clio perfume oil.
Clio is the patron of historians, epic poets, biographers and all those who wish for fame, reknown, and celebrity status. Notes listed by the BPAL folks are warm, dry parchment, lavender, heavy woods, patchouli, benzoin, orange and amber. Loving it so far!

Sisely Soir de Lune today. One of the new Chypres, it has interesting "circular"development, juxtaposing several combinations of opposing notes:
pimento/rose, peach/honey, citrus/moss, patchouli.
The wearer alternately picks out combinations of notes, over and over, focusing on the salty, floral, sweet, sour, earthy aspects of each.
My favorite aspect of this fragrance is that it does not cater to the "immediate likeability" factor. Rather, it sits back and asks the wearer to consider its attributes.
