The only 2 fragrances that I have routinely & regularly got compliments from women on - Page 2
Question:
Never tried Rive Gauche. But I can agree that Kouros is one the biggest compliment getters I have Answer: The thing about Kouros, and most well done fragrances with a civet note, is that when you first apply (and when smelling up-close on the skin) they smell animalic and somewhat off-putting, but the civet note gives it "exalted sillage". This is why they get complimented. Civet does amazing things to sillage, but not so amazing things up-close (unless you like that smell). Answer: Do yourself a favor and dont waste your money on Rive Gauche, its foul smelling..very foul smelling. Answer: Mont Blanc Individuel and John Varvatos. Go figure, Mario. Answer: Agreed on the Rive Gauche. Three women who I know have been out to buy this for their hubby/boyfriend after smelling it on me!! I take this as one of the ultimate compliments Never liked Kouros, so I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it just to see what people thought. The other main one for me is GIT (in an all-round day/night scenario sense). Fahrenheit also elicits many compliments, but I'm not overly comfortable wearing it in an office environment. Answer: I too have trouble with Kouros (it is that 'animal' element - it's very strong and I just can't get past) but love it when my husband wears Body Kouros and according to the directory those who like this tend to also like Rive Gauche, which he also wears and I usually comment on. Guerlain's Vetiver and (imo) the very similar L'artisian Timbuktu also get my extreme admiration - especially in the summer. I love the aforementioned l'eau d'issey and JPG Le male too - whenever I smell these on the tube, in a bar, on the street etc. I just want to congratulate the guy wearing them! "Well done for making the world a nicer place" I'd say! Answer: I would just like to interject here... I like both of these scents but have NEVER received a compliment on them... For some reason...the sweeter/woodier (is this a word? ) scents blend better with my chemistry...Anyways....I was at the mall and the SA told me to smell her wrist... She was wearing Euphoria for women....it smelled great but it didn't smell anything like it smells on my wife....for some reason it was A LOT more subdued and sweeter on the SA....it just shows that some scents blend differently....and I swear I would have never guessed it was Euphoria....never. Answer: I wore Rive Gauche yesterday and I really did not get into it. But my wife went nuts for it as soon as she smelled me yesterday evening. This one is for the chicks to enjoy on us, not so much for our enjoyment. It's my wife's favorite on me. While she was nuzzling my neck she said "it smells like KOUROS!" That was the scent I wore when we were dating. She even had me spray a teddy bear I bought her with Kouros. Guys, YSL is the lady's choice on us. Face it. If I wore exclusively YSL scents, I believe it would suit my wife just fine. She even likes L'Homme! Answer: Creeds GIT & MI, Kenneth Cole Reaction, Halston Unbound, Swiss Army...compliment catalysts. When I wear Mont Blanc Individuel I find myself complimenting myself all day (saying to myself things like "You the man", "That's what I'm talkin' about", "I think I love you", and so on). Cheers...
