Fleur du Male question
Question:
Though it was love at first sniff it seems that even if it is extremly powerful in the begining (the top notes are almost sickening) it just dosen't seem to last. And it projects zero. Do you feel the same about this scent? Answer: Even though I didn't really like this one, the longevity on me was pretty good (at least 6-7 powerful hours). Answer: Are we talking about the same scent..? After I sprayed this only twice on 1 arm it projected so much that everyone in my car could smell it, within a few seconds.. Maybe we have different skin, but I found FdM obnoxious in its sillage and a neroli/orange blossom powerhouse. Answer: Yes it's true. After the first apply it projects too much probably but after an hour it's gone. Answer: I'm voting for the high sillage and longevity camp here; and anything with that much orange-blossom cannot go too far wrong. Answer: Fleur du Male is pretty darn powerful on me... not as powerful as Le Male, mind you, but still pretty potent in the Gaultier fashion. Answer: I have always been a fan of Gaultier's website, but I felt left out with Le Male for years. Both, the bottle and scent never appealed to me. After sampling the new Fleur du Mâle in a crisp white torso bottle which gives me an almost Kouros feeling I can tune in with ease. The fragrance puts Hermes' Parfum d'Orange to shame, I am tempted to say. But I liked what I smelled: floral stuff but fresh as a late April day! It only turned my compass needle for m/f identities by 180°. That happened on the spot. With so many Gaultier fans here I am surprised to find it hardly discussed, or should I check the ladies' board for more? I know how to deal with frags that have too much sillage, no problem! But if it wouldn't last, as some of you experienced I better take a step back. I just don't think I need to accept stuff that does not last five hours, preferably longer, when older makes can do it! Answer: Amazing projection and longevity on me also. One good puff and it will last til morning the following day! Answer: Tried it yesterday for the first time. Wow. FdM is great, such a welcome oriental blast, but still pleasant and suitable for summer. My girlfriend and friend both loved it immediately as well. I´m guessing this is gonna become increasingly popular. The bottle is well done and appealing also, marble-like statuesque and cool. The scent itself is almost like a very muted Joop! combined with the original Le Male and with some comforting "toasted" accord as well. That description sounds somewhat bizarre, but together with the soft floral neroli it works excellently. Doesn´t project as much as it´s predecessor but stays on the skin forever. Was even clearly present after showering. Hats off to Jean-Paul, together with G2 (which I´ve also come to love) FdM is one of the most exciting releases in a long time. Nice.
