Blenheim Bouquet vs. Neroli Sauvage
Question:
Hi guys. It is my 27th birthday on Monday so I have decided to treat myself to a new fragrance. I have narrowed it down to Blenheim Bouquet and Neroli Sauvage, but I am having a heck of a time deciding between the two. It seems like I change my mind every day, so I thought I would get some opinions here. I know there is quite a price difference, but putting that aside what do you think is the better of the two? Blenheim seems like a formal citrus to me and I am not sure if a 27 year old can pull it off. What do you think? Thanks for your help. http://www.basenotes.net/wardrobe/6880 Answer: well, to start out with, I'd say you have a pretty enviable collection of scents already there man! I have worn BB a fair amount in my time, and I'm just 30, so I don't think its too "old" a fragrance at all. I just tried the NS recently, though, and I don't think it is much of a "comparison" scent to the Penhaligon's. As for price, they aren't tooooo far apart. The BB is really good for the summer also, I think. I know it's a bit of a cop-out, but buy the Penhaligon's fragrance sampler for 20 bucks and give it a go. It is a really good way to try that and a few others, and it seems like there were people here who would sell a decant of the Creed. My money would be on the Penhaligon's though, as you have some good Creeds already. Answer: Happy birthday! Thought I'd throw in my two cents. Of course test before you buy if that's practical for ya. My collection is heavily weighted in citrus. I've sampled BB and while liking it, to me it was a clone of Trumpers Wellington, which I have and wear. After reading many positive reviews of Neroli Sauvage I was still reluctant to buy it...but I did. NS immediately became my default citrus. IMO it is the best of that scent family - it's that good. Just my opinion. Good luck... Answer: I bought a bottle of Néroli Sauvage last week and it's really nice stuff. Pretty straightforward citrus. It does seem to wear pretty close to the skin. I recently did a review of Bois de Cedrat and compared it to Neroli Sauvage. To me, Bois de Cedrat seems like a "cool" citrus, while Neroli Sauvage is more of a "warm" citrus. Neroli Sauvage is great stuff, but you may also want to try out Bois de Cedrat as well. I haven't smelled Blenheim Bouquet, so I can't comment. Neroli Sauvage is really good though.
