During my recent quest to acquire a few discontinued fragrances i came across this fragrance repeatedly. It sells for a high price and there isn't any enough information about this fragrance on basenotes.

I would request members here to shed some light on the nuances of this fragrance.

Well Eluard thanks for posting your views on this. I wish someone who is enthusiastic about this tells us more about the driving force behind his enthusiasm. I remember you started a thread long ago about 'Baryshnikov' and unfortunately even then there were not a lot of members posting there thoughts on this one.

A high quality elegant fragrance. One of the first celebrity fragrances before everyone and their housekeeper has a fragrance. The fragrance was very mysterious, spicy, smokey. I would nab it if you find it.

I've seen Baryshnikov products around, even cheap, but I think it was the Sport variety, and I have no idea if that's any good. Someone else may know.
With stuff like this, that even fetches high prices on Ebay, you may find it tucked away in some fragrance vendor's site at a lower price. This stuff doesn't get into the search engines in many cases. I've found a couple off-beat items this way. Unfortunately, that requires some hunting.

I can add one more morsel to the very little information about this one. I've noticed that the really high ebay proces are for Mishka by Baryshnikov ($300+US) not Baryshnikov itself. So I wouldn't pay too much.
And then there is the argumentum ad silentium: if this is so great why aren't there more supporters of it here, given that there are usually a few people here who know the greats of bygone eras?
Reason for caution at least.
