My favourite scents of all time are
1, No. 88 by Czech And Speake
2, JHL by Aramis
3, Edition by Dunhill
4, Love Potion No. 9 by Penhaligons
With that said I'm having trouble locating something else along these lines, with the power and longevity of the aforementioned.
Also am I the in a minority regarding these fragrances?

Youre not alone with your choices - as my signature suggests i too adore LPNo 9, and also C&S No.88.
I dont seem to have troubles with longevity if I spritz 3 or 4 times.
Might I sugest you try also "Richard James" if youve not already done so. Its staying power is brilliant, and boasts some of the same unique qualities of those youve listed!

I appreciate the rich and heavies myself, especially on rainy winter days.
If you like No. 88, you may also like some of the Montale Aoud line, particulaly Aoud Cuir D'Arabie and Black Aoud. The latter can hold on for 24 hours or more.
Other deep, rich, long lasting fragrances worth trying are Idole de Lubin, Bois du Portugal, Jaipur Homme (EDP), Yatagan, Palais Jamais, Eau Lente, Timbuktu, Piper Nigrum, Fumerie Turque, Arabie, Eau des Iles, and of course, Kouros.

The only one I have tried from the previous suggestions is Kouros which I also love. I've just ordered up Richard James which was reassuringly expensive. I'm over the moon by the fact that there are plenty more to try.

I'll just add Alain Delon Iquitos and Tiffany for Men. Oh and don't forget the more formal line, but great composition, power and longevity; Chanel PMC, Azzaro PH, Cacherel PH, Givenchy Gentleman.
