Serge Lutens for spring/summer? - Page 2
Question:
I vote for fleurs D'Oranger beautiful.

Answer:
Oh, WOW! Thank you ALL for your wonderful suggestions.
I do own Daim Blond and Datura Noir and do like them both very much, and plan on wearing them during the summer. I also have a bottle of Chergui which I just LOVE, decants of Fleurs d'Oranger and samples of Arabie, Bois Vanille, Ambre Sultan and Miel De Bois. I like them all. I love Chergui, I think it could even be my most favorite Lutens scent, but I was concerned that during the summer and spring season it would not be as appropriate.
I still have not had the pleasure of sampling Rousse but I will do that on Saturday and was hoping to hear some of your reflections on it. Is it really for the summer and spring? Some suggest it was more of a Christmas scent then a spring and summer, but we'll see this weekend.
The other one that intrigues me very much is Fleurs d'Oranger (recommended by many of you), so maybe that one will be my next full bottle purchase. I'm just anxious to get the shopping and sampling started .
Thank you very much for your help.

Answer:
I’m very new to SL so I’ve never really smelled any of them in the summer, so this is all conjecture on my part. And it would of course also depend on just how much summer you get (I’m near Seattle, so I don’t get that much summer or that much winter.)
I’ll be trying Bois de Violette, Gris Clair and Chypre Rouge on summer evenings.
If I get my hands on more Chene, it’s so dry that it just might work.
Iris Silver Mist- immensely cool
Encens et Lavande was clean and aromatic on me, so it might work in the heat, but I found it a touch too masculine (whatever that means) on me.

.
to me Rousse is really an all year round perfume, I get that with Clair de Musc too since it 's not as gourmand and sweet as other Lutens like Cedre, Douce Amere, Chergui and many others.
you ll see Rousse 's gourmand fruity notes are understated and never taking over. The mandarin and the burst of cinnamon top notes are very sparkling and refreshing.
this is really what I ve been waiting for from Lutens since Fleurs d 'Oranger and Clair de Musc.
I left other impressions of Rousse in your other thread.
