Any recommendations for someone who loves CDG Quarzazate???
Question:
I just can't get over this one... It's peppery, heady, woody, spicy and bordering on rank.. A few light years from anything remotely "fresh" but somehow smells strangely clean when applied from a distance. Can anyone who also loves this fragrance recommend something along similar lines?? Answer: Every time I've sampled Ouarzazate, I couldn't get over how similar it was to Gucci Pour Homme: pretty much the same woods 'n incense combo to my nose. The CdG has a nice chili pepper top note (but which fades pretty fast), and perhaps the incense in the CdG is a bit nicer, but still, the two are very close. This could be a minority view, though ... I don't recall seeing other posts comparing the two. Answer: Have you tried CdG Red Series Harissa? It's of course very different from Ouarzazate but there's some similarity because of the red hot chili pepper note and Moroccan influence. Answer: I'd buy more Quarzazate before they discontinue it. Fresh incense is an oxymoron, fruit is fresh, incense you need to wait 30 odd years for the heartwood of the sandalwood trees. 30 years is not fresh. For agarwood you climb mountains and havest them. If you're lucky some have fungal infections and are oozing oud. Oozing and fresh are polar opposites. Answer: I would try Shanghaijava - Encens Mystic by Crazylibellule & The Poppies. It is a solid perfume, not a spray, but it packs quite the incence/woods punch, in the vein of Prive bois D'Incens by Giorgio Armani but WAY more affordable. Answer: Ouarzate is truly a unique fragrance - I don't know of anything else like it! But worth a sniff are: AVIGNON from CdG. PALISANDER from CdG. JOSEPH STATKUS sample from Lky Scent. The spicy up notes in Ouarzate reminds me a little of MONTALE GREYLAND, but it does not have the woody, incense drydown - but still nice. The melange of notes is similar to LE LABO ROSE 31, but LLR31 is rose instead of spice but also with the nice wood incense finish. LOL. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
