Insolence by Guerlain
Question:
I know this fragrance has been discussed, but I am new at this and I could not find the thread. I love fragrances and sometimes out of the blue, I remembe something. I am not an expert, but when I first smelled a sample of "Insolence" by Guerlain, it reminded me of a scent called "Champignon" my mother received (30-40 years ago?), amber colored liquid and, the cork was colored "cafe mushroom", and shaped like a mushroom cap. Ring a bell anybody? Answer: who would ever call a perfume "mushroom" LOL?? personaly I found Insolence to be a sweet mess of candied violet, very potent stuff, good for young girls but past your 30s it 's not very subtle and ladylike. Ring a bell anybody? I know it does not fit into your time reference of "30-40 years ago" but this almost sound like a description of the bottle of Champagne from YSL (including the champagne/mushroom cap) before he was forced to call the scent Yvresse. Please take a look here to see if you recognise the bottle. http://www.nextag.com/yves-saint-lau...ne/search-html And...welcome to Basenotes. I hope you will enjoy it here as much as I do! Update: I almost forgot that you were asking for a link to the thread on Insolence. /showthread.php?t=183587 Answer: Welcomewelcome Aromatherapy! And thanks for asking this question - I learned something new from Riannon and hope her kind interest will help keep you coming back for more! Answer: ...not a huge fan of this, personally. It's just too sweet/heady, even after the nice drydown. I'll admit the bottle is lovely, and I'm sure on different skin chemistry, this will be quite nice - but on mine, it feels like somebody spilled their strawberry/rasberry juice all over me. Answer: Insolence is something I wanted to love, but there was a tad too much violet and berry in it. On the other hand, it's a very 'old-fashioned feeling' scent packaged as a young girl's scent to me. I can smell the Guerlain base in it somewhere, although it never comes into its own. Answer: ai ya ya... not for me... it smells like that hello kitty eraser I owned 30 years ago! I only have one word to describe it "Artificial" Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
