Does Opium PH fit you?
Question:
I have a bottle of Opium PH that I don't wear often. I love the smell and it's actually really intoxicating when the spices pull through. I don't have my nose nearly as glued to my arm when wearing anything else. Now that's all fine and dandy, but when I wear it, I feel like an imposter! The smell, as intoxicating and pleasant as it is, just doesn't feel like me. Today I was wearing it, and got two people telling me I smelt really nice, and I was kind of feeling the imposter thing, when I wondered what kind of person i'd see wearing this EDT, and literally no one came to mind. Who would you see wearing this wonderful scent anyways? Does anyone here use it as a signature scent?

Answer:
The EDT is nice but the EDP is AMAZING. Wore the EDP today and I felt very comfortable in it.

Answer:
One of my favorite fragrances. Do not feel I really have a signature scent, but a group that I use more than others. This is in that group. For me, the combination of notes are just right. Yes, intoxicating.

Answer:
It's good but far from what it could have been. On me, the vanilla comes in too early and obliterates everything else. The Eau d'Orient version of Opium is better because there is more going on in the top- and mid-notes. To me, Jaipur is a similar fragrance better balanced.

Answer:
Like a glove!
I've just ended a week of Opium edp only and I may be ready to commit to having this as my signature scent as it's widely available, fairly inexpensive, and an all around handsome lad of fragrance.

Answer:
Hmm, does it fit me. I guess so, but it really is a cold(est) weather fragrance. For me, it has to be really cold that it is okay to wear something like that.

Answer:
I wear Opium EDP almost every day in the winter and fall. It's one of those that I'm most comfortable in. However, like the original poster, there are a few fragrances that I like, but that I don't feel comfortable wearing. Kouros is one. I really like it, but I can't wear it, it's like wearing a batman suit - it's cool, but it's just not me...

The Opium EDT has alot of interesting "high" notes that I really like that are absent or very muted in the EDP, like the anise and peppers - however, overall I find the EDT smells dirty and grungy, and I ended up selling it. Curious to try the summer version though.

Answer:
I don't know whether it "fits" me or not, but I like it a lot so I wear it! In fact, it's probably my very favorite of all. Come to think of it, it probably does NOT "fit" me because it's very exotic and worldly and I, basically, am just a hick from Kansas! But I don't care. I like it.
I am referring to the eau de toilette version. I've been hearing all of this talk about how wonderful the eau de parfum version is, but I'll be doggoned if I can find that stuff! I'd like to try the EDP version, to judge for myself whether it lives up to all of the hype or not, if I could only FIND it. Scentiments.com and ThePerfumeSpot.com don't have it. If anyone on here knows of a domestic (US) source where I can order some Opium Pour Homme eau de parfum, please let me know. Thanks!

Answer:
Oh yes it does, very much so. First off, I'm Chinese. Opium is what F*cked us (well, them and white people) so it is bitterly ironic that I enjoy the scent with the same name. Also, there is a szechuan pepper note in Opium. That's a region in China known for it's spicy food (amaaaaazing) and hot weather. Furthermore, Cold weather is my faaaaaaaaaaave and Opium really needs to be worn exclusively in cold weather. Oh, and lastly, 3 out of 4 fragrances in my collection are oriental or semi-oriental so... yea. If you're Asian, eat spicy food, love cold weather and wear orientals a lot you'll be a shoe-in.
