My new Blind Buy - 5 scents
Question:
Hi all, I have recently made another blind buy and they're on their way from England. 1. Ungaro III 2. Escada pour homme 3. Benetton Colors Uomo 4. Nikos (red juice) 5. Dunhill Edition These were chosen out of the good reviews here, but I want your fresh opinions. The weather here is very warm now, from 35-41 C (or 95 - 105.8 F), I'm not sure if these scents (especially the first 2) would be too strong, slapping people right in their faces as they walk past me? Blind buy is exciting, indeed. Answer: Funny, I blind-bought Ungaro III and Escada PH just a few days ago. I think the Escada would be too strong in hot weather, but the Ungaro might work. The Escada is AWESOME by the way! Answer: Hey dsds, I'm really interested in buying a bottle of Escada for myself! Is it really awesome? Some people say It has some clashing/discordant notes... Too old fashioned/powdery?? Answer: I recently acquired Ungaro III - it will be a tough sell for you in hot weather. I don't know if this will make sense to anyone, but Ungaro literally reminds me of a fireplace - not the scent itself but the way it simmers on your body and throws off its dark rose accords. Apply it sparingly and it might work. Myself, I will probably save mine for next fall/winter and wear others during the warmer months. It's a good retro scent though. Answer: The only one I'm familiar with us Dunhill Edition and it's about as classy as they come, without coming off stuffy. It's woods and spices that, looking at the pyramid, would have you believing it's a cool weather scent, but it works well in all but the hottest temps. Ungaro III is on my list to try. Too old fashioned/powdery?? In retrospect, maybe it's a little less than awesome. It's very rich, but synthetic-smelling over powdery basenotes. very "sparkly," rich, formal. I can send you a decant for a few bucks. if you're interested let me know your zip code and i'll give you a price. it's a fairly cheap fragrance as is , less than $30 for 125 mL. edit: oh wait, you aren't in the US, so the decant is probably not such a good idea... I like the Escada less and less the more I use it. Take that as you please. Answer: My 5 blind Buys came in today 1. Terre d'hermes 2. YSL rive gauche 3. Gai Mattiolo Uomo 4. D&G light blue 5. Live Jazz All of them are good buys I guess..I've just gone thru what other members adviced here on the forum...and I'm glad I followed their advice Answer: mine are: Yves Saint Laurent M7 John Varvatos and the M7 shower gel!
