Favorite Jasmine Perfume? - Page 3
Question:
I LOVE Jala. Went through two bottles of it a few years ago. I definitely need to repurchase it one of these days. On me, the frangipani and magnolia were prominent and the jasmine was sort of the balancing element in the blend. You need to try i Profumi di Frienze Acqua Chiara! (I wish I hadn't used mine up...another one I need to replace someday...) I recently purchased Parfum No. 1 by The Pink Room UK and it's got a lot of heady, sweet jasmine. It's an all-around beautiful fragrance, perfect for Spring. I like A La Nuit, Calypso Jasmin (Christiane Celle), Keiko Mecheri Jasmine, and TDC Jasmin de Nuit. I don't wear jasmine soliflores particularly well, but these work all right. Answer: Quote: Originally Posted by kumquat I thought the only jasmine I would ever need was Creed Jasmal. I would also like to know if Jasmine Full is significantly unique from these Jasmin Full is quite different. It is the strongest, purest, most indolic jasmin I've ever tried. It's a bit much for me! As a note, it's incredible, but to wear all day I think I'd suffocate. I prefer A la Nuit and Jasmine de Nuit--I love the clear jasmin that resonates in A la Nuit to the very end, but I love the cinnamon softness and tonka/musk softness Jasmine de Nuit. I can't spray either one of them--must dribble a bit carefully on my wrist to avoid jasmin toxicity! I tried Jasmal some time ago, and I recall it as a much softer, subtle, slow blooming jasmine than any of these others. ??? Answer: YSL In Love Again d'etoile? Answer: Just fell for TDC's Jasmin de Nuit, but it wasn't on me. I passed it to my daughter and it is startlingly gorgeous on her. Now if I can convince her that owning a bottle or two of perfume won't brand her as a bourgeois girly-girl, there is something I can buy guilt free. Have not experienced the Creed or TDC jasmines but I can say - along with Shycat - that Jasmine Full is the most intense jasmine I have tried. Even for me - who loves bold, in your face frags and am graced with older, dry skin - it gives pause. But I'm saving up for it because it is pure jasmine. Not for the faint of heart. It is the avowed favorite of our own Vijay (Maison Stinky) who will happily supply you with a sample I am sure. Will be most interested to learn of your reaction!! Answer: Thanks for weighing in on that, Shycay & Taolady. I have a sample on the way and I'll let you know what I think. I forgot to mention, one of my favorites; a decant I have of Donna Karan's Jasmine. It is very clear and pure, intense-- almost earnest, if that makes any sense. The Creed Jasmal I would describe as more Baroque. I have no clue what else is in it but it is a far more elaborate rendition. Charming but almost lacey in structure. Answer: Mona di Orio's Carnation (skin tone in French - no carnation among the notes!). I eventually found the only jasmine-dominated fragrance I love and am able to wear. It's by no means a soliflore, but the delightfully buttery, lush and animalic jasmine is the most prominent note on my skin. Answer: Jasmin 17 from Le Labo. Wearing it is like being surrounded by fresh jasmine. The jasmine note has sustain through a full day's wear. Although it has a vanilla/sandalwood base, it's never overly sweet or cloying. Answer: A la Nuit by Serge Lutens has been mentioned a few times, in this thread - I love it. It's quite lovely, a fellow Basenoter described it was 'wearing a necklace of flowers' when you apply it. I love that description and find it exactly true. Like inhaling the jasmine flower scent, at a very pure unadulterated level. Answer: Joy in the perfume or EDP version. (In the EDT, the rose becomes more dominant on my skin.) Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
