Question:
After much persistence and desire to like leather scents, I gave up. Daim Blond, Knize Ten, REL, just too damn unpleasant. Nothing satisfying or attractive at all about them. The closest I got was Varvatos....eh.
Then I read a thread asking about Knize Ten and REL so I sprayed one on each arm and asked myself, why did I just do that? when the stench came upon me.
Later in the day, it was in a moment of peace, calm, and clarity that I smelled something different: clean, soapy, something something.
I think I've learned that some of these scents require a really, really long time to get to the drydown, where the magic really is.

I've found that a lot of the stronger fragrances like REL need a lighter application then normally used to really appreciate it. Try using fewer squirts and spray from a greater distance.

What I love is when I spray something on (either drunk or just half asleep), and then I wake up or smell it later in the day. I smell it and think "Who is that around me with such a good smell?" Then I realize it's coming from my arm, and I spend so long just re-discovering what lovely cologne I'm wearing. When I figure it out, all the other stuff I remember about it comes back, and WHAM! I can pick out every single note with panache. It's like smelling something without knowing the name, soooo fun!

When i first applied REL i thought..Oh my god YUK!!!.. Then around 2hrs later a wonderful soft fragrance fought its way out!! Excellent stuff..
