Perfume oils
Question:
I'm looking to get some (masculine) oil perfumes. I know Ava Luxe and a few other perfumers make mostly oil perfume, but if anyone could recommend a good mens oil fragrance, that would be great. I need ideas for which samples to order.
Ideally, I'm looking for an oil that evokes the same kind of depth as (or smells similiar to) Serge Luten's Gris Clair, my favourite perfume. If you've ever smelled it, you probably know what I mean.
I love Gris Clair, but I need a new summer fragrance along the same vein (Gris Clair is just on the border of summer for me, and I don't want to smell the same all the time :P )
For what it's worth, I'm male, 20 years old, straight, and like orientals (sandalwood, patchouli, hints of tobacco, incense... I love incense). People have described me as having a very warm personality, but usually *slightly* aloof and (at the risk of sounding cheesy) many people say I seem dignified and speak and carry myself well. I think I'm just naturally thoughtful and try to make everyone comfortable and feel acknowledged in my presence.
With that said, please recommend some niche fragrances that seem to fit the bill. It doesn't have to be an oil perfume; I just prefer them. Thanks

Answer:
I would get a sample of Sheik by Madini. It starts out smelling like pure, strong lavender. After a few minutes i get what i think is a faint fruity accord lurking in the backround. Don't worry, its not a "girly" fruit smell and its not a sweet scent by any stretch of the imagination. After it dries the lavender mellows out and your left with (i think) some soft woods and musk. The fruit accord gets somewhat more pronounced as well. This scent is hard (for me) to distinguish the different notes that are in it. Unlike most of their fragrances, Madini doesn't give any notes in the description. Its very easy to wear and would be perfect for summer.
You can get 5 samples for $10. I would get Almaktoub, Omar, Sahara and Shadow along with Sheik. Also, if you love incense, you have to give Madini's a try. Its astounding! www.madini.com
Good luck in your search.

Good luck in your search. Sheik sounds great. I have Sahara and Almaktoub (I like Sahara the best) but I'll order samples of the rest of their mens line. Thanks!
