CK Obsession
Question:
I've tried CK Obsession a couple days ago and the staying power is just amazing! I mean I can still sniff it on my wrist, while I've washed my hands like 15 times since the testing! The scent itself seems to be very nice and distinctive as well (I've never tried Obsession before). I think it has something in common with Egoiste (or vice versa being exact). Agree? Answer: Hm, well they are both heavy and sweet and are both great orientals. Answer: Originally Posted by ChrisW Hm, well they are both heavy and sweet and are both great orientals. I think they both smell apple pie with cinnamon to me And if Obession is great, why did you rate it with 3 stars then? Answer: I agree, Obsession has great lasting power and that why I love it. In fact i'm wearing it today. Sadly, I really love Calvin's other great creation Eternity, but it has NO lasting power at all. No matter how much I apply it just evaporates in minutes on me. I thought when Coty took it over from Unilever that might change, but nope, the new juice just doesn't last either. Anyone else have this problem? Something about it gave me a headache when I wore it last winter season and after that I couldn't wear it for awhile. I will probably wear it again once I'm able to get home for spring break. But, other than both fragrances being distinctive orientals with great sillage and longevity, Obsession and Egoiste aren't that much alike. Answer: Obsession was the first oriental that I remember buying. It lasted a very long time on my skin and I thought the scent was great. Has been awhile since I last tried, may have to pick up another bottle. I do not feel that it is similar to Egoiste though. I wore it at work and at night, although I now know it is more of an evening scent. I loved the longlasting cinammon/vanilla notes, and I received many compliments on it. Still have a bottle. Pi is closer to Obsession than Egoiste IMO. Pi has more vanilla and less cinammon than Obsession. Answer: I must admit I find Obsession boring now...but when it debuted in the 80's I was in LOVE with it & found the same thing, lots of longevity! Sadly, The new Obsession it is a shadow of it's former self. One of my all time top 10 frags, but when I ran out of an original version 2 years ago, I was met with amazement when I smelled the new stuff. Today, Obsession is about 1/3 the fragrance it used to be. That reminds me...I left a bottle at an ex GF's house about 5 years ago....what are the chances...?
