Question:
I've had no disasters ... yet anyway. My best blind buys were (in order from most favorite): Bandit Black Cashmere Helmut Lang Kingdom Herve Leger Dioressence Jaipur Saphir Bulgari pour Femme Todd Oldham Nu Answer: Blind buy success L'Heure Bleue Feminite de Bois Molinard Mitsouko Blind buy disaster Schiaparelli-Shocking (dead roses in stale beer) Prada-Prada EDP (patchouli plague) Answer: I've only ever done 3 blind buys, and luckily the one I ended up disliking was only a mini so it wasn't a big deal. Blind buy loves: Rococo by Joop! Fidji by Guy Laroche Blind buy disaster: Attraction by Lancome Answer: I donīt buy blind. I always sniff first. But there can be dissapointments anyhow... Sometimes, on travels for example, one only have one single opportunity to decide to get a perfume or not... At least I donīt have any great dissapiontment, just smaller ones. Answer: Time and age has taught me, DON'T DO IT!!!! A few I just knew I would love and hey I was lucky with buying them blind. N'Aimez Qui Moi read the notes and knew I would like it. I did. Apres L'Ondee again I was lucky. Infact I was shaking when opening the bottle in the store. Ambre Sultan another gut feeling which worked. Not actually buying blind but little time to decide in the store, on a day trip and had to go home. Penhaligons' Castile quick sniff oh like it. Er no!!!! Neroli which tried to choke me to death and had to be given away. Penhaligons Racquets the vetiver turned bog body on me. Answer: Many successful blind buys*, one single mistake: Chloe Narcisse *A Fleur de Peau, Arabie, Bandit, Cabochard, Folavril, Jolie Madame, Kisu, Yohji, and several CdG scents: White, Calamus, Tea, Carnation, Sequoia, Zagorsk, Cinnamon, Peppermint. Answer: After reading all the experiences you all have had buying "unsniffed", I realize that I'm just not able to go on the notes alone, even if it sounds good. I'm glad that most of you haven't suffered the same fate. I just purchased something off of Ebay, and I hate it! The original Mania, it sounded exactly what I would like, but it was not at all! I gave away quite a few to my girlfriend. Now realizing that was a mistake, because I probably would like some of them now. (I'm too generous) I will ONLY buy something I REALLY like, and not waste anymore money on nonsense, I promise. Answer: Nightmare list: Infini Hanae Mori Haute Couture Thumbs up list: Fracas (my first online unsniffed purchase) Narcisse Noir Chergui Guerlain's Tutti Kiwi L'Instant Millesime Iris Answer: The internet has really facilitated some serious blind buying "retail therapy" on my part. Most have been quite lovely some to the point of thrillingly fine, as I bought my Montanas this way, Bandit this way, and almost all my vintage scents (though I had great memories to rely on, the fragrance memories were hopelessly entwined with personal memories and not the most reliable always). The worst blind buys have been reactions to price...I love a bargain....I bought a large number of Fragonard and SMN this way. I ended up liking about a third of these. Fortunately, with two daughters, my errors ended up being appreciated. The worst blind buy was Malmaison. I hated it. Fortunately this had a happy ending as it was traded to someone desperate for an "old fashioned" carnation. Answer: Originally Posted by shadesofbleu I've had no disasters ... yet anyway. Actually, Todd went to my Mom & she like it very much. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
