Ancient Egypt?? Kyphi or Kapet frag?
Question:
Hello, guys!
I just popped over from the ladies' board to ask a question. I've become interested in ancient incense recipes, and kapet/kyphi of the Egyptians is really a standout scent. Are you aware of any frags that are based on this brew of dried fruit/wine/spice/incense?

Answer:
where do you get this incense?

Having said that, there's quite a few recipes for khyphi and other sacred egyptian temple incense.....so you can never say THIS is the incense they used.
I also think the ancients would be quite offended by your use of the word 'brew' to describe kyphi. Remember, it was not only a incense but a divine medicine as well

......or are you hoping for a fragrance based on kyphi?
Sacrilege!

Answer:
I meant no disrespect, "brews" were once magical to Europeans, you know. Some still are. I bought the kyphi incense from Scents of the Earth and it's very good. I have 5 different recipes for kyphi, and I was wondering, as European church incense has been used as inspiration for Avignon, Zagorsk, and others, and MesoAmerican incense was used as inspiration for Normal Kamali's Incense (I think), whether any perfumes exist based on kyphi?

I do know a lot about ancient Egypt, however not much about their frags: all I know is that they had an bowl on their heads ( the women) with a hot substance, that created the scent..an inscent burner....

Only to turn their vile little tails between their leggings and go gibbering off in confusion after they have beheld the Palace and the man who is supermarky.
this is all getting so damn predictable.
Does this shit have a marine odor?
like washed up fish?

Answer:
I think it's a fantastic question. Let me see if I have it down correctly. You are looking for a wine + dried fruit + incense + spice concoction. Am I close? I bet we can find something.
Have you tried Donna Karan's Black Cashmere? It's not fruity but it has at least half of what you require....

I know you're american, but you really must learn when someone is not being serious....even thought it appears they are! nice balancing act you do with my posts. American writes rib splittingly funny post. Brit adds a few comments and smilies and Bob's your uncle.
