Speaking of Lagerfeld........
Question:
I was doing my Filene's Basement fragrance bargain hunt the other day and they had Lagerfeld EdT, the one from 1978, the one with the ring shaped cap, for their ubiquitous price of $19.99. The liquid inside was bright orange! I remember it always being brownish. Looking over the packaging, I spotted the words, Made in the USA. What gives? I want to buy the original formula, is it still possible? Are some fragrances actually manufactured in multiple countries?

Answer:
I may be wrong, but I think it has always been made in the US.
The database says it's under the Coty Prestige brand now.
It has been under Unilever at some point, and probably something else before that.
Possibly someone will come up with a more detailed and precise history!

I'm still scratching my head over the bright orange liquid in the bottle, hmm.....

Answer:
I bought a bottle of this wonderful stuff just last week here in Saudi Arabia.

It says Made in France and the juice is bright orange.

I don't remember original bottles (I wasn't into fragrances back then), so I can't say if it's the same or not. But it does smell very good to me.

Answer:
I still wonder, are some fragrances produced in multiple countries, and if they are, is the formula contstant?

Answer:
Are you sure you aren't confusing the KL Homme (which is brown in colour) and the Lagerfeld Classic which is the one with the ring shaped cap..and the orangish juice?
I own both... which is why I ask.
a.

Answer:
Chanel fragrances are made in both France and the USA. As I recall,
I was looking at bottles of Egoiste Platinum and some said France
while others said USA. Same juice.

a. I didn't realize that Lagerfeld Classic was always orange, I remember it being more amber in the 80's.

Answer:
Who did they think bright orange was going to appeal to? It looks like brake fluid!
