Strange smell in the staffroom - it was me!!
Question:
Yesterday was the last day of a very busy Spring term at school.Myself and the rest of the staff had been feeling very tired all week and in need of a break.I woke up at 6.30 in my usual stupor and generously applied some Angel -a scent I rarely wear- before getting a taxi into work (my car is at the garage for maintanence).
Once at school I was busily photocopying worksheets, when I became aware of a very sweet, almost alcoholic smell. I passed a comment on it to the other collegue standing next to me and she said "yes, it is rather sweet." I was wondering whether the trials of teaching had turned someone to drink!!
Later on, in the classroom, I was still aware of this strong odour that I really could not place. A pupil came in and said "Morning Miss, are you wearing a very strong perfume?" Oh my God, the penny dropped - it was MOI! I sniffed my woollen jacket sleeve and perceived the odour of some Nirmala from the day before mingling with the Angel from this morning. I had produced a new type of cocktail!! NIRMANGEL. At least a I got some comments.
I asked the pupil if it was a GOOD, strong smell and he said it was "very nice!"
None of the staff commented at break time, so I assume it had settled down by then, or they were too kind or tired to comment.Altogether quite an alarming experience.

Answer:
Almost sounds like an out-of-body experience. Nirmala and Angel strike me as entirely complimentary.
As my daughter was serving a garlicy dish this week, I said I'd take only a small portion (I never take small portions of anything) because I did't want to smell bad if I had to go out for a meeting (I do have a perfumista reputation to maintain after all). Then I finally mentioned to her that a couple weeks before she had a day where she stunk from garlic in the extreme. Her whole body reeked, but I didn't want to say anything because I was afraid she feel insulted. But, it turned out, that day she went to pick up and get fitted for some new eyeglasses.
"Oh my gosh!" she said. "Why didn't you tell me!? I wondered why the optometrist guy kept leaving the little room!"
Smelling of Nirmangel's better than stinking of garlic!

Good thing it was a positive comment.

Answer:
Oh gosh! At least it wasn't a bad odor though. One time I wore this sandalwood oil that I didn't know really well yet. Someone commented that the room smelled like play-do. Sure enough, I took a whiff of my wrist and got what someone could certainly percieve as play-do. Blah! I never wore it again.
