I have a date that's 20 years in the making - what to wear? - Page 2
Question:
She's going on a date with you while married. Good luck . Envy Answer: BN'ers- Just so everyone gets the right impression here. My wife is a non-factor here, mostly, since we are in the middle of a divorce. I don't want to upset her, obviously, but me going to see an old college gf -- particularly where there really is no chance of anything happening -- isn't something I'm worried about. That said, the person in question was someone I cared a lot about at that time, and I'd like to make a statement -- if I could get her to say, "Oooh, you smell yummy!", then I'd have something to smile about. Thanks for everyones input. (BTW, the Montana isn't an option, as my store shipped the wrong bottle - Montana Homme, not the Parfum d'Homme -so that option is out.) Also I stopped on the way into work today and tried a couple of new frags on paper (didn't want to mix with my M7 I'm wearing today.) I really liked the Chanel Pour Monsieur quite a lot, and since Chanel is so rarely discounted I might pick it up on the way home. Answer: M7 gets my vote. You don't want to smell all clean. You need to smell sexy. Answer: Personally, as a woman I find YSL M7 delicious, but also find Chanel Pour Monsieur sexy as h*ll in a 'confident, successful, sophisticated, powerful man' way. I'd also urge you to sample / consider Michael Kors Michael for Men.... rowrrr! Answer: Simply take a poll at your workplace. Spray one on one hand one on the other. I did this with M7 which in the end caused me to get something else. Answer: Now THAT'S what I call a date! I would warrant that many people over...say...thirty years old have wondered, thought about, and/or even wished for such a date reunion. I can fully understand the heightened concern with which you are approaching this encounter. What time of day are you meeting? Is there a chance that your encounter will transition from day into night? If strictly daytime, I would second Guerlain Vetiver (applied an hour or two before) and add Terre d'Hermes or Bulgari Pour Homme. If solely nighttime, I would consider Opium, Heritage, or VCA. And if there is a day/night transition, then Chanel Pour Monsieur would be perfect, and B*men or D&G Pour Homme would also suit the bill. Of course and as always, these are just my subjective thoughts. Above all, have fun and enjoy the time! Jeff Answer: Wicozani, you forgot to suggest something for the transition from night to morning, "From Dusk till Dawn". Answer: Havana of course! Answer: Originally Posted by Lightninrod Havana of course! Yes, I second, third, or umpteenth that. For me it has got to be Havana. It doesn't try too hard, isn't too sweet (as M7 might be for this occasion), and projects confidence and sensuality (and it is the closest thing to Moondeva's grrrrroowlllll favourite, Michael Kors). A good tobacco note works wonders. Answer: AND YET ANOTHER VOTE FOR HAVANA ! Careful though, Havana is notoriously easy to overspray.
