I have a date that's 20 years in the making - what to wear?
Question:
BNers-
My old girlfriend from college found me this week and will be in town. We haven't communicated in nearly 20 years. She was amazing and always had a special place in my heart. She's married w/kid now, but I'd still like to catch her eye .. or nose.
BTW, she's a free spirit, super affectionate, but very, very smart (all her family is brilliant, w/ PhD's, attended the top schools, etc).
What frag in my wardrobe do you think might be a good call? The weather here is supposed to be low 20's (C) and a little damp.
I'm thinking Gucci Envy off the top of my head, but VC&A Pour Homme is in the running as well. Oh yes, and not to forget the M7.
My wardrobe is here.
Any thoughts appreciated!

Answer:
She could like Opium pour Homme (Yves Saint-Laurent) and Héritage. Perhaps it would give you a scented aura of confidence that might blend well with your personal self-confidence. And both are sensual... Good luck!
PS: Envy (Gucci) might be too trendy.

Answer:
I like the Gucci PH and Havana....
Good Luck...

Answer:
I also think that Envy might be like playing it a bit too safe. Opium EDT may be a bit sweet for low 20s C, but if you apply it early enough it could work. If I were you I guess I would let her have M7s drydown or B*Men.

Answer:
I would consider, in no particular order, either Montana, Havana or M7.

Answer:
what kind of wife (married) would go on a date with a ex from college? Or..what kind of husband would allow that...
anyway..
I would wear something that you feel confident in, or maybe something that you once wore when you dated her so she gets some memories brought back.
Good luck!

Is she his possession now? Don't think so. Quite a few "college buddies" get together a few years after college, it's not unheard of.
Havana and Genvy both come to mind, but I'm thinking Rive Gauche will evoke a pleasant response without trying to evoke the scandalous ones. Never can play it too safe.

Answer:
Sounds like you're still very fond of her indeed. I think Envy, while a very good perfume, is too common for an occasion like this. Héritage is such a fine fragrance- but you don't seem to like it too well. Also a bit formal, perhaps. V&A is not a bad choice either - perhaps a bit too serious? So, I think I'd go with Montana.
Have a wonderful evening

Answer:
I would go with Rive Gauche or Vetiver. They both smell clean and confident and don't invoke too much 'baggage'.

Answer:
Really the most attractive, interesting and wonderful thing you can be is yourself. So go with a fragrance that you feel comfortable with. That being said, you indicated that this woman is married. By that I assume that it is primarily a meeting of old friends and not one with romantic intentions, at least to outward appearances. For that reason something romantic may put some pressure on the meeting that you don't want to put there. As such I would suggest you choose something along the lines of B*Men, Havana or Gucci PH; all very nice but not overtly romantic like Envy.
