Any updates on Guerlain's Vetiver Extreme?
Question:
Good morning, I should like to hear more from basenoters who have bought the new Vetiver Extreme by Guerlain. I have not bought the original yet or the new version and would like to hear people's observations on either fragrance. Thank you Answer: Guerlain's Vetiver Extreme is a no-frills version of the current "regular" vetiver. By that I mean that the citrus has been pared way back, allowing for a purer vetiver note to be present right away. The tobacco note so present in the regular version is also greatly reduced, if not removed altogether. The sum of these changes makes Vetiver Extreme a more straight forward vetiver scent, more in the mold of Etro, Floris, L'Artisan, and even F. Malle's versions. That said, I have decided that I prefer the current regular version, for the citrus and tobacco notes are what lend Guerlain Vetiver its peculiarly outstanding character. Answer: Ah thanks Wicozani. I welcome a reduction or elimination of the tobacco but not the citrus. Answer: I agree the Extreme has less citrus and tobacco than the original but also more vetiver. The vetiver isn't stinging, but is sweet like a blade of grass rolled up between your fingers. I tried it once at Sephora and I miss it now. Answer: I saw this at Sephora and was rather impressed......Gary Answer: Originally Posted by Azsmells The vetiver isn't stinging, but is sweet like a blade of grass rolled up between your fingers. That sounds lovely. Grazie mille Answer: I found it to be too harsh a scent not very balanced. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
