the 1st scent you fell in love with - Page 2
Question:
My first scent ever was Kouros, but I wouldnt say I "Loooooved" it... it still tends to remind me of my high school ball, bad achne and ill-fitting polyester trousers. The first scent I fell in 'love' with was MINOTAURE by Paloma Picasso. At the time it embodied all that I was - just after finishing up University - and out travelling the world on my own... I'd love to come across a bottle of that in my local area. The olofactory memory still lingers on. *sigh* Answer: What wonderful stories! My first scent-love was also Shalimar, when a boy I was completely in love with bought it for me for Christmas. I was 14, he 15. I thought it was the most heavenly thing I had ever smelled, and of course sprayed very liberally, much to the dismay of my family. My Father threatened to throw it in the trash if I didn't stop "bathing" in the stuff. Eventually, the boy moved away, and left me brokenhearted, but to this day I still love Shalimar, and always have it on hand. It will forever remain "one of my favorites!" Answer: That must be Rive Gauche. I was thirteen and wished for RG or Anaïs Anaïs for Christmas, and to my surprise and delight got both. AA became my everyday scent and RG (it was a gift set with parfum, bath oil and body lotion) my "special occasion" scent. I loved it madly and used it to the last drop. But when I bought EdT, it just didn't have that certain je-ne-sais-quoi and I gave it away. And then they changed the formula, so my first perfume love is a lost love. I still do. Have you tried the EDP? Since the re-re-release post Tom Ford it seems to be back to normal. I think I saw it on 'Perfume Spot'. I think I saw it on 'Perfume Spot'. Thanks for the tip, I haven't tried it but would love to revisit this classic! Do you mean the "regular" RG EdP or is it called RG Intense? Answer: Originally Posted by mochachoc I will never forget Blue Grass. If anyone can tell me the notes it embodies I would be grateful. The notes according to the Basenotes directory are: Top: Aldehydes, lavender, neroli, orange. Mid: Jasmine, rose, carnation, tuberose. Base: Benzoin, musk, tonka, sandal. It says it was relaunched in -89, and is still in production. This was one of my very first scents, too, together with Rive Gauche. To this day, no scent has ever gotten me more compliments than Blue Grass did! It´s really lovely and special. Think I must invest in a bottle! Answer: My very first scent was Avon's Sweet Honesty. My mom bought it for me in 7th grade & I wore it for years. I bought many scents through high school, but they were mostly drugstore frags. Then...CK one came out. I loved it. It was like nothing else I had ever smelled at the time. I didn't have enough money to buy a bottle, but I'd always spray myself with it when I went to the mall. I eventually bought a bottle, and have gone through many . Answer: My first love was Devon violets in high school, next came Chanel #5 when I lived in a shed in the backyard of a friends house. I found it exotic to douse myself in expensive luxury while I lived so frugally, seeing stars between the boards. I moved on to a dreamy Chanel#22 lotion my dad got me in Hong Kong which is gone and the EDT of today is simply not the same. It was the woodiness I loved which is lacking in the edt. then it was decades before my next love...the one which turned me on to the perfume world and that forever search for another heartswell. It was Avignon! Now it is L'Artisan Mimosa pour Moi. Answer: The first scent that really turned me on to perfume was Eau Sauvage. It wasn't me wearing it, but a boy that I had a major crush on. I'll never forget the effect that fragrance had on me - tingling fingers, rapid heartbeat - I had it bad. Sadly he was a rogue and used me badly. Fortunately it didn't put me off Eau Sauvage and my husband wears it now(as do I on occasions!) Something about it still makes my heart flip...
