Based on a recent purchase and several subsequent applications I would definitely recommend Jean Patou Patou pour Homme if you are willing to pay the price.
It is available in decant from several Basenoters and if you really search, by the bottle for the equivalent of your first born. It is a discontinued (WHAT were they THINKING?!) item. The drydown is subtle yet amazing, and very much, to my nose anyway, a masculine scent of the first magnitude that quietly insists: "c'mere ladies..".
