For how many of your fragrances.. - Page 3
Question:
I'm with him on the candles. They are the work of the devil.
I'd rather let the perfume speak for itself, but, as we learn with our experiments, some fragrances are more articulate than others. Of all the perfumes out there, I'd say SL's range needs no help from any other kind of potion. That's why I love it.

Just wondering whether to invest (ahem) in more frags or body products to support the ones I have already. Thanks for this thread all y'all - I've learned so much and have several things to try out. Bravo BaseNotes!!
I've got several shower gels that support the underlying notes of some of my favoritest frags (roses, orange blossoms e.g.) and Joy Body Lotion, and Kingdom, and a couple of generic scented body lotions (Weleda Wild Rose - Gardenia and Rose - Vanilla) Ditto with the Body Butters. I like the combinations and emphasis the lighter versions can bring to the frag.
Thanks to Shycat for the suggestion of the catsup dispenser - I been battling with the metal can my jojoba comes in! Never thought to get the Kai lotion - there goes the April budget!!

Answer:
Ultimately, I would like to layer, but having normal to somewhat dry skin, I do not really have use for Scented Powder. Love lotions and shower gels, and even better, bath foams! Right now I have 4 perfumed shower gels, 5 body lotions and 2 soaps in rotation. In addition to it, there are some staples that go well with many fragrances: Yves Rocher Blue Cedar (I think it is the name!) shower gel and Chevrefeulle (sp?) deodorant being just two examples.
Would like to have more matching products (need to make it a resolution for a year 2008!).

Answer:
I only have matching bath products for those scents that I was able to find for the same price in a gift set as without. So, for... 4 of them. I do find that layering lotion helps a good deal, but shower gel does not seem to matter at all. I happen to have dry skin, so scented lotions really help me gain staying power.

Answer:
If Lolita Lempicka´s L would come with additional products I would buy it instantly, otherwise I might buy Kenzou Amour additional stuff but I havent found it yet in Iceland. Most likely it will cost a fortune too

Answer:
I layer Cristobal body lotion with the edt or edp. Works well.
I also have the Habanita body lotion (quite thick and hard to rub in)
but smells amazing.
I also have the Roma shower gel.
I don't think you can have too much of a good thing!

HELL NO!!!!!!!!!
As my own Goddesse, I MUST layer. I MUST.
I am highly conscious of how various body lotions and oils either enhance or balance a perfume or increase the longevity thereof.
My current favorite body lotions are:
Ava Luxe Viva scented body lotion (wonderful supporting role, adding JUST a touch of sweet musk to whatever you wear and increasing the longevity)
Ava Luxe Madame X scented body lotion (new, more of a presence than the Viva scent, I suspect this may require more discernment in matching with frags other than Madame X)
Crabtree and Evelyn Avocodo lotion... lends a fresh very very subtle green note or base to whatever you may wear
Skin Trip Coconut lotion... decided Coconut notes that need to be worn with a complementary frag...works well with Coco and orange blossom frags as well as with Carnal Flower and Chanel no 19
Sandalwood body oil
Neutrogena body oil
Waleda Wild Rose Body oil....very snoogly. Magnificent with Sa Majest la Rose, adds sweetness to Chanel no 19. Feels great on the skin. Very soothing solo.
I wish I could get my hands on Chanel no 19 lotion.

Just wondering whether to invest (ahem) in more frags or body products to support the ones I have already. One of my favorites is A. Goutal's Eau D'Hadrien body cream. It softens the cypress of the whole lemon grove experience I find so intriguing with that one. At first the EDP was a bit harsh but w/ the cream (its more like lemon meringue) it's gorgeous. Also, I just aquired the body cream for Cabochard, also lovely and softens the slightly harsh 'tobacco smoke' note I get at first.
I love to put the cream on after a bath/shower and the the frag. What could be better? Powder under the arms (over unscented deo.) to feel fresh as a daisy all day!

Answer:
I'd say 35%-40% of my fragrances have one or more matching body products. I tend to buy a lot of gift sets at Christmas to add to my collection.
I'd say my all-time fave body product is Coco Chanel body cream. It is to die for.
