Hello,
I'm a newbie and am looking for qualified opinions on this board. I would like to purchase a fragrence for my wife that is a favorite among users here. Something that is not too overpowering, seductive, long-lasting, feminine, and sexy. Any ideas???

Fragrance is such an individual thing that it's really hard to buy for someone else, even if you think you know them intimately. One woman's elixir of ecstacy is another woman's bug spray!
Do you know what other fragrances she wears? It might give us a better idea of what suits her and what she most enjoys.

I'd make an evening of it.
DH and I did that a few years back (but for earrings) and I just love those things!!
Fragrance, more than earrings, attaches itself to memories and a truly great evening will probably enhance the scent.

We women all have such a huge difference of opinion and your wife may have another opinion so there is no way in the world to guess what she may like. Why not take her out for an evening of perfume sniffing. It can be fun.

Another vote here for the "take her to lunch/coffee/dinner and then to the nearest well stocked frag counter and treat her to her favorite sniff".
Coupla thoughts - take along a handful of coffee beans to refresh her nose between sniffings. Let her sniff blotters or have the frag sprayed in the air first....if something strikes her fancy let her spray it on inner wrist, or outer wrist (you can sample as many as four this way). Then walk around the store for a half hour or so and let the frag develop. Or take the SA's card and tell her either you'll be back or will phone in with an order.
You can ask questions but not all SA's are knowledgeable. Your wife's nose is the final and best judge.

Hi How nice of you, my first thought would be Chanel Gardenia, If you bought it at a store like Saks you can return it if she does not like it. ALso Narciso Rodriguez, there are so many. Maybe get her some Bond samples. Or just take her to a store and spray and smell, That is very nice of you and good luck, Let us know what you choose and what she likes.
