On this first day of british summer time......
Question:
As a newbie can anyone offer any suggestions for a summer fragrance for the office...(it gets very hot in our office). I feel I should move away from my usual favs, cos most of them are what I would call heavy/musky/manly and one of my favs is Kingdom which reading the reveiws some people thinks it smells like dirty ladyparts and I certainly don't want to smell like that. I want something fresh but not too floral. Looking forward to the summer!!!! Answer: Try 'Omnia Crystalline' by Bvlgari. Its light on the florals, but boasts nashi pear, lychee, bamboo, and balsa wood. Its luminous and light, non-offensive, and lasts well! Answer: Funnily enough had a couple of sample bottles of 'Omnia Crystalline' a couple of months ago cos I liked the look of the full size bottle. Yes...quite fresh and different to what I normally wear but didn't grab me somehow or maybe didn't agree with my chemistry. Thanks for the suggestion though....more are welcome. Anything out there make people think of suntan lotion and sunbathing and if there is what is in it to make it smell that way? Answer: There's a whole thread on tropical scent further down. I also hear Bond No 9 Fire Island smells of suntan oil but a lot of people don't seem to like it. Answer: Eau de Camille - Annick Goutal Cucumber Baie - Fresh AA Gentiana - Guerlain Lovely - SJP White Musk - Montale ??Elisabethan Rose - Penhaligon's These are from my wardrobe, and might fit the bill. The first three are fresh green fragrances. I included E.Rose, since I don't know exactly what you mean by 'not too floral'. I find rose to be a gentle floral and easy to wear, and E.Rose has quite a bit of citrus up top, IMO. I haven't tried it yet, but Rosine's Une Zeste de Rose is another one that I'm hoping will have more citrus for summer wear. My 'go to' summer office type scent is Bulgari pour Femme. It's not too sweet, and has a soothing tea note, not too strong and yet still quite pleasant. Good luck on your search! -------------------------------------- I have a little sample of Fire Island, and sniffed it briefly. It is not the Hawaiian Tropic coconut/banana oil smell. It's more of a Coppertone and ocean smell. My first impression was to like it, but I put it back to sample fully in the summer. Answer: Bobbi Brown Beach? Answer: Thanks to all. Busy taking notes of your suggestions. Answer: My latest enamoration (word?) is with Nanadebary Green: "A refreshing blend with top notes of citrus and bergamot, middle notes of basil and cardamon, rounded with a base of vetiver, musk and thyme." For me, it smells like a gentle, sophisticated spearmint chewing gum. It doesn't throw its sillage far, but lasts all day on me. Demeter Wet Garden is refreshing without any of the high-pitched, piercing qualities so-called "fresh" scents always seem to bear to my nose. That's how I felt about Crystalline--it was kinda painful to smell. Runner-up to Nanadebary Green in my comparisons was Annick Goutal Mandragore. However, it's notoriously weak and short-lived. I've tried different green tea scents, but they contain a dirty or bitter quality that I don't care for. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
