Question:
guys ive tried this on for the third time - and i need an opinion im just sick of getting new colognes and not liking them within a week
as is always important - as a young guy (not too young) on the prowl, how does this resonate with the opposite sex?
i figure with all the buzz about this cologne many have tried this and many have seen whether or not many complements are adue...please fill me in...

my girlfriend HATES it, it gave her a bad headache all day and wanted me to throw it out.
I like it though, and in warmer weather it really smells better than when in cooler temperatures.

My wife daughter and female friends think its ok but nothing special.I really like it in warm weather but wear it mainly at home on my own! I live in the country and i guess we are a bit conservative but they seem to think its a bit LOUD lol. Not sure were your are but in the city maybe the girls would think its great ........

I wasn't hooked by Terre d'Hermes until my 4th test and I was sitting there and suddenly I wanted it. I wanted more than I had and bought a bottle. Like music by your favorite band, lets take bowie for instance. It may take a few listens before you make the leap and accept the music and actually groove. My daughter had great fun at my expense listening to music in the car after I bought some. Then she'd run out of her room and say "gimme that". three weeks later. she had to have it.
Whats all this got to do with Terre d' Hermes. Just saying you may not like it the first time. You may think it's odd. and then Wham!!

If you feel confident wearing it, that's what's important. If you wear something that naturally feels like "you", and you tune into that, you'll emit that confident, natural aura that people find attractive. Then they'll associate that scent with you.
You need to find a scent that fits well with your natural odor/scent profile and personality. You'll know when you've found those fragrances, because you'll feel a sense of "ah-hah" and ease when you smell them... especially as you train your nose to know what works for you.
Of course, that doesn't mean you should wear something that smells like dog droppings, even if you feel confident with it. But Terre D'hermes might smell great on someone, and a little "off" on someone else.
For those with a mystical bent, you could say that every fragrance has it's own personality... you need to find the one that melds with ya. Then, and only then, will it be considered attractive, romantically or aesthetically.

While the question (in general) has been posed a million times here, I never really thought about what fragrance would litterally draw women to me. I have frags I wear while on a date (Dior Homme, CK Obsession Cologne, T42 etc), but I wouldn't wear them if I was going out alone with hopes of a happy ending to the evening.

Terre de Hermes was never been refered to as a lady killer, but I don't know many that have been.

you buy it. I completely agree. The first time I smelled Terre, I was not impressed at all. I thought, "Hermes? Really?" I thought nothing of it and went along my way, passing it by each and every time I visited a fragrance counter.
Then I tried it again, on a whim. "Hmm...this isn't bad."
The third time I tried it, it was as if I were testing a scent I had never previously experienced. "Wow...this is very nice."
In short, this is one fragrance that might take some time getting used to. Put it on the shelf for a bit and come back to it, especially since the weather is getting warmer. It might just turn out to be a perfect scent for your summer.

I remember buying TERRE D HERMES and quite liking it..
After wearing it everyday for a week i really do love this scent now!!
I would not be without it at all now!!

I like it, it has strength to it, and it is manly, but it also would appeal to women. My son, doesn't like it too much, but I think it is nice. It dries down nicely, the first initial blast is a little sharp, but it does get better as it goes along...

The buzz was about many things including no animal ingredients, all the waiting, etc. DEFINITELY the best qualities come out with warmer temperatures. I wasn't impressed much myself until I experienced it in that way.
As stated by others, no fragrance should be considered to be used merely as "chick magnet" and especially in this case, there are proabably better contenders.
