Got an awesome deal on Eau des Merveilles today (a 50ml and a mini for $30) so that is what I am wearing. I am really enjoying it, even more than I thought I would. I also bought a small bottle of Asja (Fendi) unsniffed for under $20 and I am sampling it in the crook of one arm (the only part free of the Hermes!). I think it might be that cinnamon scent I've been looking for, but then, there's always Rousse....

Last night, lots of aquavit, lox, red cabbage, pork, rye, red wine and beer at my Danish brother-in-law's 60th birthday. I wore Jil Sander #4 which was lovely going in the door, but got lost in all those smells. I think maybe a sturdier chypre with lots of presence would have been better, like Jolie Madame, Profumo, or La Nuit. I didn't realize Danish get-togethers are kind of chypre-friendly.
