Spanish Leather any good? Who amkes best SL??? - Page 2
Question:
I was wearing a sweatshirt I'd worn a few days ago after putting on Spanish Leather by Truefitt & Hill, and I was getting this strong, deep, animalic scent. I said to myself, "That smells like patchouli." Then I remembered it was Spanish Leather. I know SL has some woody and spicy notes (maybe even some tonka and very light floral notes), but for some reason I never connected it with patchouli. I'm sure that's what it is, since I sometimes experiment with blending essential oils, and that patchouli sure is distinctive. I don't know if you've noticed that note in SL before. I wasn't able to find its notes on the T&H website or on other websites, but someone who did a review of it in the Basenotes directory mentioned he noticed that it had a certain "dirty" aspect. Ha, that would be me. I did enjoy T&H SL, and do detect a light animalic note early on, but as the scent progresses it rapidly vanishes. Answer: I really like Truefitt & Hill Spanish Leather. The dirty note isn't too prominent and doesn't last long. Sometimes I get a hint of citrus. What shines is the spicy, woody, almost soapy accord. This stuff is unoffensive but unique. I can't speak for any of the other Spanish Leathers. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
