Paris Hilton for Men - Page 3

Can't remember how or why I stumbled on this thread (I generally stay out of the Men's Club - you guys are entitled to your privacy. 'Course I'm from The Old School! ) but I'm so glad I did because it sent me searching places I might not ordinarily have gone.
To Bois de Jasmine, for example, where the (in my opinion) esteemed Victoria declares that she would select Paris Hilton (for women) over CDS Apricot Vanilla. With summer coming up, I might just want to try PH, where I never would have before....not necessarily out of a bias against the namesake, rather that there are others I would want to try first. Besides, PH has got pheromones in!
Thanks to Kevin for your passion in defending your likes and dislikes - you remind me what it was like to be 15, when life was full of enthusiasms and everything was terribly important!! And - just a suggestion - like DustB says - try out the different strengths before you buy - there can be a big difference between EDT (Eau de Toilette) , EDC (Eau de Cologne) and EDP (Eau de Parfum)

Answer:
I warned members about staying on topic. I pointed out that this is a fragrance forum where smells are discussed.
Too much to understand?
This thread is for fragrance discussion. I'm now going to edit out the posts which are off topic.
I consider it childish on the part of members to continue and inflate personality controversy after I have called for this thread to stay on topic. Yes, childish. Adults behaving as juveniles.
Not appropriate.

--Chris I think it is juvenile to delete responses, from adults, who were just defending their opinions. I did not use any foul language, or attack the poster. I just gave my opinion, as to why I wouldn't buy a fragrance from someone, I don't respect. The original poster, attacked ME. So, don't turn this around on me, that is not fair! This seems to be the only forum that does this. Your right, we are adults, and should be treated like we are, not have the principal send us home.

Here's what he posted and asked:
Originally Posted by thisbekevinn I've had a 1.7oz of this cologne for a while and just ran out, I went to JC PENNYs and bought a 3.4oz and when I came home the 3.4oz says it's Cologne Spray but my old Paris says EDT? What's going on? You offered your opinion. Your opinion about something else. Something that didn't help, and something that was scolding and bullying in nature. You don't like what he likes. Indeed, I don't know why it's unreasonable of him to say he doesn't care what you like. But you want the thread to be about your opinion. But your opinion is a hijack of the thread. It doesn't belong. The thread starter here is a member just like you are and offers a wish to know more with his question. Can you help him out? If you can, why don't you? If you can't, can you let him have the opportunity to have a thread about something that interests him? How about it?
Are you grown up enough not to hijack threads? Are you grown up enough to let a guy have his topic? Are you grown up enough to stay on topic on the forum after a moderator asks you to? Are you grown up enough now to get off the subject and let the thread be or do you need to continue to use it as a stage for your moaning? I'll lock this thread if you are hijacking it again with a fight with me or further fights with members. That will further punish your fellow basenotes member because he won't have a thread to ask about something he likes. Are you so juvenile you'll make me lock this thread and deprive him of his topic's chance?
Enough is enough. Leave this thread alone now, Dolly Dagger. If you have a reply to me this thread is no longer the place. Send it by PM. Leave this thread.

With all due respect Chris...
My post was solely a comment on the fact that some of us consumers (fragrance or whatever) consider who we are giving our money to while making purchase decisions. This can apply to "green friendly" companies, Christian companies, murderers who beat the charge then sell books, and so on. Period. Somehow you delete my post as childish and or perpetuating a fight. (Yet the one about "blowjobs" is still up.) Spare me.
Regards,
Mike
