What fragrances help you "de-stress"?
Question:
There's a lot of stress in today's society & I was wondering if people have a particular scent that they always reach for in times of stress? Is it the same scent that you consider your comfort scent (security blanket scent) or is it a completely different scent? Is it a perfume or do you stick to aromatherapy oils when stressed? I've always used aromatherapy oils to de-stress but would love to add a perfume to my fragrance wardrobe that will help "de-stress" me all day long while I'm wearing it! Would love to hear your opinions on this topic. Answer: Jicky for stress! The lavender with a slight vanilla drydown is SO soothing. I have a decant from the lovely (and missed dearly) Vinterdroppe that I have been nursing. I think part of the reason I won't buy a big bottle is because pulling out that decant also reminds me of my far-away friend Where is she? For sadness, or just felling BLAH I find that Champs Elysee is a mood lifter. I think now I need to splash on some Champs. Answer: Scents that remind me of family (my cousin's favorite Femme, my Grandmother's Miss Dior) and scents that are soothing like Boudoir and Samsara help me destress Answer: I like Shiseido's Zen Pearl as it has valerian and kyara, both big de-stressers for me. If they'd added hops oil it would put me to sleep! Answer: I am uplifted by simple florals, preferably fresh and true. I garden a bit, and the scents can trigger a flood of serenity. For me, it's like sipping life energy straight from mother earth. I like roses in the winter, and lilly, lilac, or gardenia in the spring and summer. If I'm in some state of personal distress I've soothed my soul with Matin Calin--mostly cuz it can make me ten years old again, and when I'm ten my beloved grandmother is the only opinion that matters (she is always on my side ) Her rose garden probably is the reason I have so many rose soliflores as well. Answer: Helmut Lang EDP because it's so gentle and soothing. The (sometimes dreaded) note of baby powder is so comforting it's almost like a soft blanket. Love the clean musk as well. Answer: Rococo by Joop! is my 'de-stress' and comforting scent. Answer: Anything that smells like either "soft" chocolate or caramel, also, very light cirtusy scents. Answer: I'm into single note aromatherapy type scents, and eau de colognes. They are refreshing, help me destress and refocus. I like citrus, mints, rose, jasmine, tea scents, lavender. edited to add: a warm shower or bath with a scented soap or gel is very relaxing and de-stressing for me. Answer: Lavender - usually ambient scent such as candles or oils. Bath products, as well. I don't really have any lavender notes in perfume right now. I also have some lavender scented crystals that can be sniffed, and damned if they don't work, too! Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
