a profumum - patchouly substitute?
Question:
basenoters, I've been using my little sample vial of Profumum's Patchouly that I got from LuckyScent. It's great and I like it a lot! I would get a bottle, but can't justify the $200 they are asking for it. Thats a lot of money for, like...other things I could do! Can anyone recommend anything along the lines of this scent that won't break my bank at this point? The notes are Amber, Sandalwood, Patchouli, and then it dries down to an Incense. And all of them are very strong. Any ideas? link to basenotes reviews: http://www.basenotes.net/ID26126186.html Answer: Originally Posted by avec basenoters, I've been using my little sample vial of Profumum's Patchouly that I got from LuckyScent. Any ideas? link to basenotes reviews: http://www.basenotes.net/ID26126186.html I'm not sure if you would like this, it's ALOT cheaper, and maybe not as strong, but I think it has most of the notes in it. Patchouli Molinard or Molinard Patchouli, not sure which way it's written, but you get the gist of it. Answer: Coincidence - I just got a Profumum Pachouly sample in the mail yesterday. I will sniff it when I get home and see if I get any recommendations/suggestions come to mind. Answer: I tested this about a month ago, and you're right: this is is one STRONG patchouli! The closest to it, I think, would be Villoresi Patchouli: it's strong too and is not at all sweet, but the overall feeling is that it's not quite as thick and heavy as the Profumum ... I actually prefer the Villoresi, and while it's not exactly inexpensive, it's still half the price of the Profumum. Answer: Mazzolari Patchouli - Similar to but better than Profumum's Santa Maria Novella Patchouli - Pure patchouli, less amber and spice than the other two. Excellent.
