Stumbled across this one off the net, includes some vintage houses and "practically unknowns". Gives quick descriptions of of the particular scent including date of creation and designated FiFi award winners.
Interesting FiFi winner for America's most popular cologne of 2006 is Stetson Black. OUCH!!!

Thanks for the link, iMaverick! This 'encyclopedia' seems to be an offspring of fragrancenet, and is market oriented. I had a test run 'by olfactory family', and chose 'men - aromatic fougere'. Result: 16 fragrances in total during 1948 - 2003. Run the same on Osmoz and you get 60 instead.
Osmoz is my personal favorite, but I also use H&R for their graphics, and a couple of French sites. It appears that they all differ (if slightly) in categorizing fragrance families. Sometimes I have found it helpful to consult more than one encyclopedia for the same fragrance. The 'olfactive description' in fragrance details of Perfumeworld is an interesting section!
