Safe to buy The Dreamer?
Question:
Hey,
I've smelt The Dreamer on a sample card and love it, but I didn't try it on my skin. Where I live in the UK perfume retailers are very limited (Boots or The Perfume Shop pretty much). Neither of these seem to have a bottle which I can try on my skin. (I had a problem with Live Jazz on my skin, it really didn't work - this is what is making me a little concerned.)
What I'm asking is if The Dreamer could turn horrible on my skin or if it is a safe bet giving that I like the fragrance out of the bottle?
Thanks
Take Care

Answer:
I think you're OK. The Dreamer, IMO, doesn't go through profound changes and if you liked what you smelled initially, go for it.
Just be aware that this is a very controversial scent and not all around you will agree with your selection!

Answer:
There is no such thing as a "Safe" blind buy. This is especially true with the more controversial scents like the Dreamer. I only recommend blind buys if you are getting a VERY good deal.

Answer:
If you like it from the bottle or on a strip of paper, that's a reasonably good indicator that you'll like the scent. Not a guarantee, for sure, but enough info for you to take it into your head and evaluate the risk. We don't know for certain what you'll like anymore than you do right now, so it would'nt do much good to write "oh, you're going to like it for sure!," or "no way, Dreamer won't come out on you at all."
Every fragrance test or purchase is a chance you take and no answer here can eliminate that chance.
Dreamer is a great scent and lots of people like it just on the basis of what you've tried out already. If you like how it smells, hell, seems like a good risk. What more could we say?

Answer:
A luscious scent -- go for it. You can always swap it if you tire of it.

Answer:
Sorry to go against the grain but on me this was one of the scents that changed so drastically after the top notes went. It changed from something quite creamy and sweet to an overpowering aniseed type fragrance. This may not happen on a card, so take care.

Answer:
I hate The Dreamer by Versace. They should rename it to The Crapper, because it smells like sh*t.

Answer:
the dreamer has to be sprayed on the skin. dreamer transforms into something different i say after an hour. its nice though but the dreamer isnt a safe blind buy on the average

Answer:
I get frags blind a lot, but The Dreamer would be one to test first. Usually I either enjoy or am ambivalent about frags, or come to respect them after while. On me, however The Dreamer is a sticky, noxious concoction no matter how many times I tried it. It came across as one of my amateurish attempts to make a frag.
