What scent(s) did you HAVE to ask.."what is that wonderul scent your wearing?"
Question:
Not just casually, but "wow, what is that, I have to know, and get it for myself" There has been a few times that that has happened. Once in a airport, this woman walked by, and the aroma, just about knocked me off my feet. I sniffed almost every person in the terminal, until I found her. Unfortunately, it didn't smell half as good on me, as on her. (Wrappings) I smelled (Amarige), on four different women, before I bought it for myself, it smelled great on all of them too. I wore it to death, for over 2 years, and have retired it. What fragrance really impressed you enough, that you had to stop & ask the wearer, "what is that?" Okay ladies, i ask a somewhat interesting question, and i get 2 replys, but 191 people respond to what querlains they have & wear? I'll just sit back now, and let others ask the questions, since it seems you'd rather answer the same straight ahead questions than something fun & different. That's okay...whatever rocks your boat. Answer: It's been awhile, about 16 yrs ago, at a library. This woman walked by me and I was just completely enamoured with her sillage. I had to chase her down to find out what it was. It was Lauren, by Ralph Lauren -the one that came out in 1978 -red square bottle gold cap. I love it and immediately went out to purchase it. I still have a small amount left from the original bottle. Think I'll search for a new bottle Answer: The first time I smelled it I was overwhelmed...so beautiful on her. As she was a serious senior librarian and I was just a student employee, I hesitated to ask. Eventually, I pushed myself...the fragrance was Oscar parfum. I bought some and wore it until it was gone. I recently replaced it with another bottle, and don't have the same feeling about it..but that was 1978. When in a library, where it is quiet and one is usually deep in thought....the experience of being hit (in a good way with a scent is quite a surprise. I guess because of the surroundings, the experience is amplified. I quite enjoy these rare experiences for me. It's just not the same if I'm at a party or some other social event where it's loud and crowded -there you expect scents of all sorts...and even if you came across a wonderful scent, it's just not the same...for me anyway Answer: I remembered a few weeks ago, I met my friend after work. I was intrigued by the scent she wears. Having known her for so long, I know for a fact that she has a two scents wardrobe (Narciso Rodriguez and Carolina Herrera 212). That day, it was something completely different... I asked her what it was, she said it is something from Lalique but forgot the name. She was testing it at the department store before she saw me. I was totally mesmerized by the scent so I asked her go back to the store the next day to check. It was Flora Bella by Lalique... I thought about getting a bottle, but I have already overspent my yearly budget! Answer: There was a perfume I'd smelled before on people but wasn't sure what it was. Then a few weeks back I went to the shop near where I work to get a can of drink, and a customer was wearing it. It turned out to be Aromatics Elixir. Wow, take a chill pill Dolly!! The last time I was moved to ask someone what fragrance she was wearing it turned out to be Envy. It smelled fresh and 'champagney' on her and the sillage was amazing. Answer: Sorry about not responding right away: I got somewhat promoted at work and now I have to do evening shifts with more hours. With me I have to ask other people what they are wearing in order to find out what to avoid! Sometimes, after asking this same question I get an unintelligent response, like "I do not remember", "Something my wonderful BF gave me" + an in-depth description of this BF's other virtues, "It is French, I can't even say it", "It has a green label/black bottle", etc., but I do not ask that often. The fragrances that impressed me positively on the wearer were: Clinique Aromatics Elixir, Patou Sublime and Estee Lauder Knowing, but it was a few years back. If there is any of that chill pill left, can I have a little bit, pretty please? Answer: Originally Posted by Lalage Wow, take a chill pill Dolly!! It was sort of said in jest & part true, (freedom of speech), but your right, that I need to take something, and sometimes I do...lol...maybe to better understand my stress level: Single mom, no help from anybody, hurricane damaged my place, after $7,000. in assessments, they have done nothing to fix the problem, I got injured in a supermarket, and I'm still fighting for them to pay my medical bills, etc. sorry if I'm stressed, but....lol...I'll try to behave... Answer: *Hug*to Dolly Dagger.I know all about stress....Anyhow,the scent I had to ask a co worker about was Dior Addict...It was fantastic on her.On me however it smells like a chewing gum from my childhood....*deep sigh* But still I tend to love the smell when I recognice it on oher people.I just don't like it on myself.
