Longevity
Question:
How important is longevity? When a scent smells fantastic but the longevity is a bit on the short-living side is that a reason for not buying that scent?I dont think longevity is so important;just spraying again is the solution fo me.For you?

Answer:
Great question: Longevity is important for me (I hate reapplying scents throughout the day) but not so important that I won't buy a scent because it has little longevity. I consider good longevity a 'bonus' for certain scents, not a prerequisite.

Answer:
Normally I get angry when a fragrance is short lasting but the price is high...
As mikeperez23 said, longevity isn't a prerequisite. Fragrances that lasts about 4 hours on me are usually worn at home or for quick go out.

Answer:
If i'm going to pay 50+ dollars it better last at least 6 hours or more. i put my L'eau d'issey on this monring at 8:45 and at 3:45 i still am catching whiffs of it every few minutes. 7 hours. nice.
p.s. this is my first time wearing it as well.

You would agree then with the original poster of this thread. I personally don't see the need for colognes with poor longevity, but I'll still wear them if I have them.

Answer:
I don't reapply at work, so longevity is important to me. IMO a fragrance should provide me with the satisfaction of it's scent for at least the majority of my workday. If the scent lasts til midday and I feel the scent is exceptional, I can live with it. If it lasts only a couple of hours and it is expensive, I will pass on it.

Answer:
It is definitey a factor for me when I'm considering buying a scent, but just because a particular scent has poor longetivity doesn't necessarily make it a deal breaker. Just something else to take into account. An extreme example of this is Acqua Di Parma's Tuscan Cypress, which I recently purchased even though it lasts but an hour or two on me. I rarely reapply throughout the day, but that hour or two in the morning is good enough to make it worth it. On the other hand, there have been many times I have tried a new frag only to pass on the purchase with the thought process 'if this lasted for more than a couple of hours I would definitely buy it.'
