Gucci II pH available at Bloomy's and Nordstroms - Page 2
Question:
I smelled this today at Saks.....it is not 4 times stronger than Gucci PH.....It's not bad....reminds me of something I've smelled before.....Gary

Answer:
i too just came back from bloomingdale's and tested PH II. i will agree that it it NOT 4 times stronger than the original. to me it smells like a fresher, lighter version of the new burberry london - maybe more appropriate for the warmer summer months coming up. however, i feel that the burberry has more sillage and more of a presence.
i will say that it is nowhere near as bad as i thought it *could* have been based on the notes, and it is a "nice" fragrance that stays rather close to the skin. that being said, it is not as unique or as bold as the original PH. in fact, it is the most muted of all gucci's men's fragrances.
this will most likely appeal to those looking for a day-to-day frag with more umph than your typical dept. store scent. it doesn't have quite the impact or tenacity that would be needed for a going out/club/bar scent.
in conclusion (and in my opinion):
is it worth buying?: perhaps (i personally am not diggin it)
is it as unique as the other gucci men's frags?: no
is it better than the majority of new men's releases?: yes
will the packaging make you want to buy it?: quite possibly
my 2 cents

Answer:
thanx for the advance !

Were you able to detect any black tea note listed in the pyramid?

Answer:
Wasn't Gucci supposed to come out with an Intense or EDP versio of Gucci PH? Was that what was supposed to be the one that is stronger than the original? Maybe this is a differnet fragrance.

Geez ... this is sounding worse and worse. I got zero sillage from the new Burberry London ... even after getting pissed off at the poor longevity (and sillage) and spraying it about 80 times all over myself!
Oh well, I guess if I do like the scent of Gucci II I'll have to dump half the bottle all over me ...

Answer:
Well I picked up the Gucci PH2 today, and I like it a lot. For some reason the drydown reminds me of PH1. I don't know I may be dreaming, but I really like it, and it is for the more summery days.
The SA tried to talk me into getting Antidote, was willing to give me a mini and a nice pocket square, but I passed up on the offer.
But she filled my bag up with samples of Fleur du Male, Kiton Black, and Antidote.

Answer:
I just got a sample yesterday - I'm going to have to buy a bottle of this. Yes, as muchisgiven mentioned, there is a definite connection to GPH. In addition to a bright, watermelony opening, I'm detecting a strong peppery note (the pimiento listed in the pyramid?) that strikes me as very similar to GPH.

Can you believe it, but somebody is selling a bottle of Gucci PH2 for 125.00, plus 6.25 for shipping...I bought a 3.4oz bottle from bloomingdales for 70.00 and I thought that was expensive.

Still, this reminds me of the countless months leading to the Gaultier˛ launch in the US. Here, some "discount" sites were ripping us off, selling the stuff for $90 for the 2.6 oz total dual bottle set, which officially cost $75 when it hit Macy's. (Since then, the discount site in question has dropped its price on Gaultier˛ significantly.)
