Gucci II pH available at Bloomy's and Nordstroms - Page 3
Question:
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-125-GUCCI-Po...QQcmdZViewItem There is the link...I can't believe that Answer: Tested it today and liked it. It does not smell like a regular fresh, clean, blah-blah-blah stuff. There's some similarity to Essenza di Zegna but Gucci PH II is much better I think. Good stuff. Answer: Does he think people are too lazy to walk to their local retailer? If anyone buys that, they deserve to lose their money for not doing their homework. - Rich Answer: I think that's exactly what he's depending on. It was too spicy, but this one is just perfect. Answer: Originally Posted by muchisgiven I can definitely wear Gucci PH2...PH1 didn't go well with my skin. I am a novice when it comes to describing individual notes in most fragrances, and the new Gucci doesn't immediately smell like anything I can readily compare it to. Gucci PH II seems centered around a resinous, incense-like note that does indeed connect it to the original Gucci PH. However, instead of being bone dry like the original, this note (and therefore the whole fragrance) feels sweeter and lighter. Some earlier references or suggestions I saw earlier that this was an aquatic seem off-base...I personally don't get anything oceanic/water-based out of Gucci PH II at all. I am going to hazard a guess and say the note that has caused this to be so absolutely appealing to me is Myrrh. I would appreciate anyone who is more familiar with Myrrh and/or articulate in describing these notes to chime in and let me know if this is indeed what I am smelling. Answer: who is offering decants or samples of the blue brew? Answer: I got some of PH II sprayed on my hand today. The opening wasn't all that bad - a clear tea note slightly reminiscent of Annick Goutal's Duel, but a lot sharper. It later dries down into a not too complex mellow base of spices. It's not offensive, but it's not renewing either. CM Wolff, you may be right when it comes to the myrrh. I think that is what makes the slightly sweet note. I don't know who at Gucci was responsible for that "4 times stronger than Gucci Pour Homme" quote, but as mentioned before, there is absolutely no truth in that. I'm quite disappointed that Gucci is now turning into the lane of the big money and the boring scents. They used to have rather distinct fragrances. Guess it all has to do with the new CEO's?
