Occasion scents
Question:
Does everyone have certain frags that they feel fit better than others with particular occasions? Recently, I attended a funeral, and chose Bellodgia to accompany me. What would you choose for a: Funeral Wedding Party Theatre (movie or stage) I sometimes have a hard time deciding on a scent for these occasions, but I did feel Bellodgia was a good choice for the funeral. Answer: I don't really choose my scents by occasion, (I know alot of people might) but I would definitely wear something more subtle to a funeral or hospital visit, then I would to a wedding or celebratory occasion. I love my Fendi, which is powerful, so I guess I would wear that to any occasion other than a funeral or hospital visit. My only "subtle" scent I own is Jungle Elephant by Kenzo, that dries down to a pleasant low key, incensey scent. I don't "party" anymore, so I can't say on that one, but I usually wear Fendi or anything else I have (which are too numerous to mention) to most functions. Answer: Funeral - Mitsouko, because, although it has a warm and comforting heart, it is dark and a little melancholy. Wedding - well, it depends on the type of wedding, of course. But if it was a traditional wedding on a sunny day, something light like Ivoire de Balmain. Party - Ambre Sultan, or possibly Hypnotic Poison Theatre - Creed Royal English Leather. (Or if a really long play, Miel de Bois or Musc Ravageur, since they lasts forever!) Answer: Funeral - Voleur de Roses by L'Artisan, Black Aoud (very lightly) OR Eau Des Merveilles by Hermes (I found the first two has as immensely sad feel to it) Wedding - Jo Malone Vintage Gardenia (I have only smelled this once and thought it is pretty and conservative enough to be worn for a wedding) alternatively Serge Luten's A La Nuit OR Antonia's Flowers Party - it depends... I would wear my Number 1 scent Fracas. If it is a party at a smokey environment, I would go for something fresher i.e Blu by Bulgari OR Sake by Fresh. Theatre (movie or stage) - Douce Amere OR Chergui (but use sparingly) I found these 2 scents extremely articulate. A more commercial one would be SJP's Lovely. Answer: All i have to say is that i wouldn't wear Rumba (wich i like) or Rockin' Rio (wich i hate) to a Funeral. Also, i wouldn't wear something so strong as to overshadow the groom and bride at a wedding. Answer: Funeral - Rococo (comforting) Wedding - Jean Paul Gaultier (romantic) Party - Moschino (sexy) Theatre - Fidji (subtle) Answer: Funeral Cristobal Wedding L' Instant Party By D&B, Guess Gold Theatre Serpentine or Sensi Answer: Oh wow! I came back from a meeting to all of these wonderful suggestions. Thankyou all so much, this gives me a better idea of what to think about choosing in the future. Answer: Funeral : Iris Poudre Wedding : Cristobal Party : Nirmala Theatre : Sienne l'Hiver (Eau d'Italie) Answer: For the funeral I'd chose Iris Silver Mist. It has been my choice on such an occasion and even though it is kind of distant and cold, it still was perfect. And it brings back memories, comforting ones actually.
