Question:
I have sampled rock star and marrakesh (sic). They both go on so majorly musky that I couldn't bear to wait around to see what developed. So they seem aptly named! So they seem aptly named! Heh!! I just swapped on MUA for a partial bottle of Bohemian Wedding, I'll post here when I've had a chance to sample it. Answer: Okay, I got my bottle of Bohemian Wedding. Are all these perfumes alcohol based? I have to wonder if my bottle was watered down, 'cuz the longevity is laughable - 10 minutes. I guess the only way I'll know for certain is if I order some of the ridiculously expensive 1-mL samples from the Rich Hippie website. It's a very pleasant, very LIGHT scent with no longevity. I mean absolutely zero longevity. The Rich-Hippie.com website (Cognoscento had it right on...it's terrible, very late '90s styling, agreed about the frames) lists it as a "Chic, romantic, earthy floral with notes of Sumatran Patchouli and Italian citrus." The citrus is very prominent for quite literally five minutes, then it goes away. I can't smell any patchouli even on the drydown. I am shocked at how shitty the longevity is. If I had bought this retail for $125, I would be highly pissed (angry) that it only sticks around for a lousy ten minutes. The bottle I received is an alcohol-based fragrance, not an oil. I splashed it on very liberally before work one day, and by the time I got into the office it was totally gone. I just doused the inside of my wrist with some to test it as I was writing this post, and after 10 minutes it was gone. Not even the faintest whiff of sunny citrus or earthy patchouli. WTF? Although it's a refreshing scent, my American nose is accustomed to smelling lemon and citrus and thinking "cleaning products." As Bohemian Wedding dries down, it smells warmer and sweeter. Then it disappears. I don't understand how they can call it "floral" when there are no flowers. I really like the organic idea, but the bottles aren't very inspired. Okay, to put it bluntly, the bottles are crap. They're these narrow-necked glass bottles with a plastic screw-top lid that probably cost 19 cents apiece. Hardly worth the high price tag, even if the juice inside is organic. I also don't like the flacon style, I'd much rather have a spray. Guess i'll have to decant it into an atomizer if I want to spray it. There's absolutely no effing way I would pay full retail for this. So Bohemian Wedding gets a "meh" from me. However, there are some others that sound pretty intriguing. There are a few that have note profiles that appeal to me, and I'd like to try them someday:
