Scentiments.com - Good G.I.T.?
Question:
I'm thinking that this might have been asked before, but can anyone verify that Scentiments has fresh, genuine Green Irish Tweed? I'm getting to the bottom of my bottle.
If you've ordered from them recently, what year was on the bottle/box you received? I'm paranoid about receiving stale, spoiled, or juice with evaporated-topnotes, and GIT seems to be a popular fragrance to fake. My bottle seems to have lost a bit of the sweetness in the topnotes. I've purchased Himalaya, O.S., and Green Valley from scentiments all with positive results...can I expect the same for GIT?

Answer:
Yep, I recieved my GIT from Scentiments about a week and a half ago, and I can verify it's good. I have gotten a fake before, but not from them, so I know what a real bottle looks like now.

Answer:
That's the thing...I'm reasonably sure my bottle is real, as it is identical to all my other genuine Creed's, but I think it is just a bit evaporated. I posted a thread a while back about it. It just doesn't smell as sweet as it should and is quite heady and stronger than it should be. It is ever-so-slightly "off" from the testers at Neiman's.
(Discounted but slightly evaporated 4 oz, 70% full GIT for sale!)

Answer:
i've had nothing but good experiences with scentiments, but honestly if you're that paranoid about "freshness" you'd probably be better off to buy at a mainstream retailer - as i don't believe scentiments makes any guarantees about how "fresh" their merchandise is

Answer:
My bottle of GIT from scentiments was fine. They sand out the dates on the box and bottle and put a blank sticker over it, though.

Answer:
I've ordered from Scentiments several times, usually with good results, but the last time that I ordered from them I got a (clearance) bottle of Polo Extreme Sport that was completely off, and, more importantly, a 2.5 oz. bottle of Himalaya (advertised as a tester with cap, but which arrived with none) that went off only about a month after receiving it -- and which is now being used as a bathroom air freshener.
I do think freshness can sometimes be an issue with them... just be sure to check your stuff immediately upon receiving it in case you need to return it.

Answer:
As sort of a corolary to this topic: which online retailers are known to be ones that a serious shopper should AVOID, due to inferiority of product or fakes? I've ordered from ThePerfumeSpot.com, 99Perfume, Perfume.com, Imagination Perfumery and The Perfume Port. Did I make any mistakes that I shouldn't repeat again in future?

I had a bad experience with FragranceNow.com regarding a bottle of Creed Baie de Genievre..... don't go there...

Answer:
I bought a tester of GIT from scentiments and while it was certainly genuine, the bottle had gone "off". However, I was actually pleased by this as the overly bright topnotes were absent. Upon initial spray, all I got were the heart notes.

Answer:
I bought my GIT from Scentiments without a problem.
