Guerlain, Hermes and CdG older fragrances
Question:
Yesterday I had the opportunity to test Vetiver, Equipage & Bel Ami, and Odeur 53... Vetiver was very good - it had good sillage and longevity in the heat and it was one of the few times I actually enjoyed a fragrance of that kind (fresh, "clean" and not sweet). I can't comment on the different notes, but the fragrance itself was very appealing. Equipage was OK. Strong and heavy and also long lasting on my skin. It didn't give me what I was looking for though. Bel Ami on the other hand had the kind of leather smell I have been searching for for some time. I got Safari for the SO a while ago, and on him it smells divine, but on me the longevity is next to zero. Odeur 53 (not that old I know). I didn't get this after the initial application, the notes were nothing I could relate to. I then read up the pyramid on BN and "kind of" understood. If I can comment, this is definitely something DIFFERENT. Now for your kind help - the current mood is for the fragrances of yesteryear. The above don't share anything in common IMO, but which would be the best addition to the wardrobe? Any comments will be appreciated. BTW, hopefully at the end of the month there should be more money available to buy something new!! But they may just have to wait until I get Cacharel Pour L'Homme and Caron's 3rd Man (or one of the current cravings below not available in South Africa). Thanks! Answer: Go for the Bel Ami I am a Comme de Garcons junkie...but Od53 gives me a splitting headache about 5 minutes after application ;( Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
