The original Richard James is much better IMHO than the 2006 Cologne. They are quite different (and surely, they could have put more effort into the names!). The original is a smooth classic - its most distinctive feature is the rose/suede accord. I like to wear it for work, distinctive but not too 'out there'.
I've tried the Cologne a couple of times in shops. It is a perfectly respectable citrusy cologne, better for hot weather, but it lacks the originality of the 2003release.
