How about Renée?
Question:
Renée seams yet another Annick Goutal/Jo Malone/Susanne Lang kind of perfumer.
Anyone tried them?
They are available in the USA at http://www.luckyscent.com and in Europe at http://www.myvanitycase.com.
She also has her own website: http://www.renee.com.au

Answer:
More temptations, Cedric?! [smiley=shocked.gif] I'm drooling just reading the description of her Amber.

you can stop drooling now....the amber was a huge disappointment...to me anyway. It was so nothing.....I could hardly smell it. the snow peach & lily ones are nice....just that Nice! OK....Not bad ~ not fantastic. Cedric hit the nail on the head with these......nice scents....polite scents.....quiet scents.....to me non-descript scents. If you are going to try any of the renees I'd sugest the peach or Lily.

[smiley=cry.gif] I frequently talk of all the wonderfully-scented ladies of my past -- my mom, grandmothers, aunts -- so "the scoop" at Lucky Scent really got my attention and my olfactory memory wheel turning!

Answer:
Sorry to be the one to burst your bubble But alas its true......captivating & Exotic are definately not two adjectives I'd use to desribe it.

Answer:
That's okay, BG. I could write a book on the short life of bubbles. They exist to be burst, I guess. Not to worry, darlink! I'll survive. It's always a pleasure to read your comments and opinions, and it's good to see you again! [smiley=kiss.gif]

Sorry to drag up such an old old old thread, but I felt it necessary because I got a package of Renee samples in the mail today! And guess what? The package was hand-address and posted by Renee Griffith herself! She even signed the "no dangerous goods" declaration lol. I guess it really is a boutique fragrance house if the founder of the brand is still doing the postage for online orders! They were all tied up with her signature Renee ribbon and they came enclosed with a handwritten note. A really lovely touch I thought (and all for AUD$7.95 + p&h). Anyway, here are my verdicts:
Snowpeach - Really bad on my skin at first. It smelled like a combo of peach sorbet, and the taste you used to get in your mouth when you ate grass as a really little kid (What? No one else did this?). When it dried down though, it went to a really soft fuzzy peach and was really quite pretty. All the green disappeared. Softer than TBS fuzzy peach.
Mediterranean Lily - A very ordinary white floral. Very nice, but unremarkable. Smells like one of those mainstream white florals that my mum wore in the 80s.
Amber - I am not an amber fan at all, probably as a result of a mother who way overabused it, but this is very wearable on me. Not too strong but still very assertive. I wouldn't buy it or wear it on a regular basis but I definitely don't hate it.
Tuberose - I didn't like this, I'm not sure if it has violets in it but that's what my nose registered.
L'eau - As the name would suggest, this is a watery frag. It's a watery floral, very inoffensive but kind of blah.
Overall - nice but uninteresting. Kudos to them for the packaging and great service though.

Answer:
That's great to know. While the site was down, I hit about 10 different perfume places, and had actually considered her Amber scent as well. I love this kind of info. Thanks to you all I can now put my money towards other frags I've been eyeing.

Answer:
in my opinion, it's worth investing in the samples...to see what they're like on your skin. remember, everyone's different...so a fragrance that may be bad on one person may turn out nice on yours.
I've gotten her samples, and I must say that- of the 3 I've tried so far- they're nice. i like the snowpeach and amber...don't remember which of the other ones I tried...me and my memory!! lol
They are nice fragrances...and considering Renee's one of the only Aussie perfumers I've encounted, I think they're special.
