Mitsouko dupe....
Question:
Here's a question (and maybe considered sacrilege)...
Does The Body Shop Peach + Patchouli + Japanese Musk oils = a Mitsouko dupe?
I'm not suggesting that anything can ever be as great as a great classic like The Misty. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried to create a smell-alike. I've heard of some people using TBS oils to make an MR dupe.

Answer:
Great question!

And why not? Are those who adore & prefer the Classic or Traditional versions of this beauty supposed to wait until the IFRA, European officials and the head honchos at Guerlain come to their collective senses and reinstate the originals? Or do we wait on some savvy business fellow to relieve us of our hard earned cash with an (usually) unsatisfactory dupe? Pah!

Here are a few possible crazy combos off the top of my head. Not full proof as I haven't tried them but may be a good place to begin experimenting from...

For the Classic style Mitsouko EDT:
Ava Luxe Moss EDP + TBS Fuzzy Peach + TBS Japanese Musk (modern)
Jean Patou Sublime + TBS Fuzzy Peach
Ava Luxe Dark Chypre EDP + TBS Fuzzy Peach + TBS Japanese Musk (modern)
TBS Chypre + TBS Fuzzy Peach
TBS Woody Sandalwood + TBS Fuzzy Peach + TBS Japanese Musk
TBS Japanese Musk (modern) + TBS Fuzzy Peach + Spiritual Sky Ambergris

For the Traditional style Mitsouko EDT:
Ava Luxe Moss EDP + TBS Fuzzy Peach + TBS Japanese Musk (vintage)
Ava Luxe Dark Chypre EDP + TBS Fuzzy Peach + TBS Japanese Musk (vintage)
Jean Patou Sublime + TBS Fuzzy Peach
Pierre Cardin Choc EDP + TBS Fuzzy Peach
TBS Patchouli + TBS Fuzzy Peach + TBS Japanese Musk
TBS Japanese Musk (vintage) + TBS Fuzzy Peach + Spiritual Sky Ambergris

For the Classic style Mitsouko Parfum:
TBS Woody Sandalwood + TBS Fuzzy Peach + Jean Patou Sublime EDP + TBS Japanese Musk (modern) + Spiritual Sky Ambergris

For the Classic style Mitsouko Parfum:
TBS Fuzzy Peach + Ava Luxe Dark Chypre Parfum + TBS Japanese Musk (vintage) + Spiritual Sky Ambergris

Answer:
You guys are great--the epitome of resoucefulness.
My next trip to Omaha will encompass a trip to The Body Shop. And I must order some samples of Ava Luxe and Jean Patou.

Answer:
I'd add a drop of carnation or clove.

For the Classic style Mitsouko Parfum:
TBS Fuzzy Peach + Ava Luxe Dark Chypre Parfum + TBS Japanese Musk (vintage) + Spiritual Sky Ambergris Moondeva. Could you possibly try some of these combos and report back to us? I don't have all the constituents here and therefore can not make a dupe right in my living room. I only have access to the modern perfume oils since the stores changed all of their stock recently. I have swapped my vintage oils away because I wasn't using them and I didn't think of making dupes with them.
I would love to know if any of the modern TBS oils could be used to make a dupe of the great Misty. Tomorrow I will see if I can stop by a TBS store and test:
Patch + Japanese Musk + Fuzzy Peach + Woody Sandalwood (all modern versions). I will report back on my findings.
Anyone else trying this should also let us know.
If only TBS made some amber, vanilla, jasmine, and ylang oils so we could replicate vintage No. 5 or other discontinued scents.

You guys made me very curious! I have TBS Patchouli oil and Woody Sandalwood oil....Wonder if it works to add a touch of roseoil too?Don't have anything peachy...

Answer:
Okay I've tried a combo today. I went to the Body Shop and put 4 drops Japanese musk, 2 drops peach, 1 drop woody sandalwood on my wrist. A few hours later I get a musky peach with some sandalwood. It's too sweet to be anything like Mitsouko.
I think perhaps I over-did the peach.
