But for today (after vigorous cleansing and jojoba-ing) I have indulged in my sample of MDCI's SB1 - aka Invasion Barbare ("indulge" is just the word - these samples are 5ml!!) an "oriental fern" that on me is just smashing!!
Opens with grapefruit and bergamot, segues into violet, white thyme, cardamom, lavender and ginger. Settles down with a throb of cedarwood, bourbon vanilla and musc.
I totally surrender to this invasion - the Bourbon vanilla and musc so subtly uphold the flowers and pamplemusse....I don't get an impression of fern (the cedarwoood vanished quickly) but surely of a simmering Oriental!! Many thanks to Riannon for turning me on to the line!!!

MDCI---I don't even know what that stands for. But it doesn't matter, because I am not getting any more samples to test for a long while. I swear! I have enough to keep me busy for a year.
