What scent says "Medium dry vodka martini"? - Page 2
Question:
Gendarme Greed (part of the 7 Deadly Scents series) has vodka, but it has too many other notes for the vodka to be dominant. You may want to try it, it's cheap enough. I smelled Ambre Russe by Parfum d'Empire last week at Luckyscent.com (The Scent Bar), and although I wasn't really impressed, you can really smell the vodka. -------------------------------------- I smelled Ambre Russe by Parfum d'Empire again today and I got to say I was much more impressed! The vodka is center stage, softened slightly by the vanilla. I'm not sure it's medium dry. You may want to get a sample from luckyscent.com (I think they charge $2 per sample) and give it a try! Answer: Cool. Thank you everybody! Answer: The new Chanel No. 18 smells like Gin Tonic. Answer: I think it's called Eau de Cartier. It's suppose to be unisex, but it definitely smelled to me, like a martini. Very clean, dry & citrus like. It's in a big clear bottle, and the juice is clear too. Nice, if you like that kind of scent. Answer: Carven's "Vetiver" Answer: Aramis Cool if you can get your hands on it. Personally I prefer Gin Martinis. (Or was it one of the writers in a Bond film?) What's with all these heretical Vodka martini drinkers? Ah well. As they say, if there were no differences of opinion, you couldn't have horseracing. Cheers, Mario. Answer: Originally Posted by Mario Justiniani Thank God! What has Ian Fleming done? (Or was it one of the writers in a Bond film?) I don't know the cost differential between Gin & Vodka, but I'd imagine gin would be more than vodka based on the # of ingredients, which might explain why the Vodka Martini popularity. Vodka has a slight peppery note, while vermouth (at least the probably bad vermouth I probably have) is a bit, well meaty-herby. I'd say something like 9 parts Lagerfeld Man to 1 part Agua Brava might be something like it. Personally, I'd just splash on some gin. Some people do that, in fact. K Answer: Cacharel Pour Homme (great fragrance),but attempts to obtain a truly dry dry martini by putting only one drop of vermouth in a shaker full of gin.
